Are you serious right now?  Like, you're honestly trying to argue that value is objective?  No, sir, you're flat out wrong.  also, Wind Waker has a higher metascore and more universal love than ANY of those games that are in the HD remasters.  The highest of all of them is, I think Ratchet and Clank, Up your Arsenal.  Plus, Zelda: Wind Waker is LONGER and has MORE CONTENT than all three Ratchet and Clank games put together.  Longer t han all three Sly Cooper games put together.  Longer than all three Jak and Daxter games put together. so yes, you're wrong.  

Also, this is a full remake, not just a graphical upscaling.  Remember the Resident Evil Remake?  same price if I recall correctly. and people ate that shit up like candy.  It's not a ripoff, you need to get your head out of your ass. 


Metal Gear Solid 2 has the same metacritic as Wind Waker, has shedloads of content too and can match WW alone.  It also comes with MGS3 and Peace Walker.  Not that the few points lower some other games are really makes a difference.

WW HD isn't a remake either, that is just flat out false.

Everything I bolded is, in my opinion, an opinion and/or matter of perspective.

I think it would be better if you both just realize that you aren't going to be able to change eachother's minds - games are subjective by nature (like comedy and arguably all forms of entertainment).

I was just thinking this, thanks for confirming.  Wind Waker HD is worth $40 to me.  I'm surprised they are charging 50, then again, they know people will pay it!

All critically praised games.  Stuck together and sold for cheaper when remastered.  If want to go digital only are even more.


Does any of those "collections" have this?

+ Improvement in textures and lighting, whit a resolution at full 1080p

+ New social functions (Miiverse integration, Tingle Bottles system for hints and pics)

+ New difficult system (hero mode at the start)

+ New gameplay elements (off-screen tv, touch controls for inventory and maps)

+ Ingame improvements (Triforce quest tweaked, faster sail, upgraded picto box, new buttons for items used in the boat, no loading in the overwolrd, faster crane animation)

 

That's the quality I was talking about. And we know how much praise a Zelda game can get.


Those new features aren't really much when you play the game, sailing is faster?  Faster crane animation?  New buttons?  Well that changes everything!

Some of them are comparable to trophies, 3D support, sending messages, new diificulties, new ligting systems, voice chat and new button layouts etc, all new features found found in my list.

WW HD does a tiny bit more than them, but barely.  It will be 99% the exact same game, which does not explain why $10 more while being only one game instead of 2-3.

And yet, it will likely end up selling millions. How unfair the world is, eh?

This is really what it comes down to. They can sell it for 50, so guess what they are going to do?

they arent forced to buy it so there is no problem


If they do want the game they are forced to overpay for it.

Of course they will, it's Zelda.

If I had a WiiU I would buy it too. Although I would only because Wind Waker is the one Zelda title I have yet to play.

Plenty of others beat it.  A few metacritic points do not change the price of anything.

It isn't a $10 difference anywhere, because you're forgetting is only one game instead of 2 or 3, so in US is a $10 difference as well as lacking 50% to 66% of the games a HD collection usually has.  Pay more and get less.  In UK it is a £20-25 difference, price at £45-50.  WiiU game prices actually gone up from the £40 standard, complete opposite of what happening in US.

You're the one who brought the amount of content a game has into this, so your Skyrim example is more nonsense or at best applies to your own arguement and kills your own argument. 

I've compared all games equally.  If you did want to argue content then I already said about MGS, if that is not enough then Okami HD which easily matches a Zelda game for content as well as gameplay cost only £16 digitally, if you import physical from Japan or Asia (in english) is only £25. 

Or how about the upcoming FFX/X-2 collection, telling me those games lacking content?  Oh and they even adding new content to those games too, which completely kills any defence of the Zelda WW port higher price.

Its hard to find the GC version of Wind Waker for under $35-40 used but u can easily find the Jak, MGS, GoW games for $5-10 each. So that kinda proves people see more value in Wind Waker than they do most of those other titles.

Wind Waker was on a small selling console which means less people played it, the following consoles outsold it massively and brought new fans, that is what drives the price up.  Also a console favoured by young gamers who typically trash stuff they own meaning less good condition copies.

...not that this excuses WWHD price, several games in HD collections sold for a load of money too before the HD collection released, Ico/SOTC/MGS3 Subsistance/ etc.

Yes it was on a smaller selling console but the game itself sold 4.6m, thats on par with the GoW, MGS, Jak games. Anyway I agree that it should be $40 but I have a feeling a big percentage of people who get this game will get it with the bundle so in a way its almost as if there getting it for free.
