anyway, their situation is indeed quite similar.

yeah, I like to use the 3DS as a way to remind people that the WiiU isn't doomed yet.  both had terrible launches, both relied on ports and remakes at first, and it looks like once the WiiU changes its fortunes this holiday seasons, both with rebound and kick ass.

yes, the games coming to the competition are generally not even close to the ones exclusive to nintendo.

and now I'm really curious about this online everyone talks about. what is this magical online structure that sony and MS have? you can buy and play games online, that's what online means and it's the same for all three.

It will take far more than a $50 difference to make people buy the Wii U.  Let me break down what +$100 gets you when you get a PS4 instead:

-500GB instead of 32GB

-Blueray Support

-10x the gaming performance (Not a random number)

-A well established unified Online Network

-Countless  Social and Cloud features

-And finally so many great games I could not list them all in under an hour

 

The only thing you give up is a tablet controller which can be had with a better experience using the Vita (Even a longer battery life) and Free Online (If you can even count the Wii U as having online games).  The Wii U should have always cost as much as the PS360.  Until it does it is a joke of a buy...

it is irrelevant, just like 3ds bad sales were irrelevant to determine it's future. If both had games and were selling bad, then the numbers wouldn't be irrelevant.

WiiU's problems are a lack of steady releases (And I'm talking mostly Nintendo first party games, not 3rd party games which unlike Playstation or xbox are not key to the success of a nintendo console), price (which they've taken steps to solve) , and marketing (still not wheree it needs to be).

online infrastructure has nothing to do with its' current troubles. To suggest that is so laughable.

wii u is getting many third party multis and exclusives. no third party support = lie

wii u let's you buy and play games online, use miiverse and etc... and it's free. outdated online infrastructure = lie

wii u has the same resources the ps4 and Xone has. outdated architeture = lie

wii u's gamepad should barely increase the console price by $50 and it's a great plus. most devs are utilizing it even a little, you must have meant that most MAY not use it to the fullest.  over priced gamepad that most developers will never utlilize = lie
