MH 4 is not on Vita for the same reason some upcoming home console games are not on WiiU...... smaller userbase and smaller sales forecast. Sometimes the cost of reprogramming a game for a platform does not match the potential profit that version will get. I know this is kind of weird, considering that Monster Hunter is a big hit in Japan, but comparing both Vita and 3DS userbases there, there´s nothing surprising about this at all. Or do people forgot that Capcom opted to make MH3 for Wii first, instead of the other consoles, due to production costs and smaller (at that time) userbase of other consoles ? |
its worth explaining why a big company has to decide between the consoles it puts its games on.
Monster hunter was PSP's biggest game and now its not on the Vita.
Its like how COD is PS3's biggest game, but if activision claimed there wont be a PS4 version because the install base is non existant and they dont have resources, people would go mad.
Its just BS. If you dont have resources to make your biggest game, you go and buy them.
If you launch a popular game, you dont look at the currect install base, you estimate the install base on the day you launch that game.
