and I'm pretty sure they don't care about Move, the touchpad or the speaker on the controller or the motion on the controller, they just have them as an option for developers who want them, there is no reason at all for tacked on features that are mandated, they just give developers options, not mandate them.

They clearly want people to purchase it because they have The PlayRoom already installed on the console. The camera could probably do some special things, but if no one buys it, developers want use it. Like the Kinect, people seem to hate it, but it's a powerful tool. If developers can use it the right way by not doing stupid gimmicks, it could make gaming more enjoyanle. 

Which means support will only come from Sony.  Meaning that if will probably sell the same as the PSeye and move.  I bought the move and the PSeye for the PS3.  I bought the PSeye for the PS2.  I wil not be buying the PSeye for the PS4.  Sony has regulated the device as an add on.  It will sell and be supported as such and them basically collect dust within my living room.  My issue is that if Sony isnt serious about the device then it will not get serious attention by developers and even Sony itself.  A few games here or there then it will fade away like the PS3.

it's a good thing that sony doesn't care about the camera...they need to get all of their energy behind games and ps4 itself...i don't care about touch based or motion gaming...screw all that.core gaming4life!

I'm probably going to buy it anyway, even if might actually be of little use for the PS4.

Because stereoscopic 3D HD webcams are very interesting anyway, there seem to be none on the market so far, people will probably find ways to use the PS4 camera on a PC.

You people confuse me. Just because Sony doesn't shove it down you throats evey ten seconds it means they don't care about it? It's not even out yet and there's already claims of it being neglected. You people confuse me.

No, they don't care about it. They talk about how great the DS4 and the console is, but not the camera. I would've at least expected a video of them showing at least one cool thing it can do. That wouldn't be them shoving it down our throats.

Because the DS4 and console come in the box THAT'S why they are shoving it down your throat The camera is  optional And you did get get the video it's called the playroom. Which also be preinstalled in every ps4

Did you read my first post? If they want us to purchase the camera, they have to show us other things rather than The PlayRoom. No one cares about The PlayRoom. They don't show us how it can benefit gaming, or how it would work with the UI.
