Forums - Gaming Discussion - IGN: I Played Titanfall, and...

What's with the "opinion as fact" stuff from IGN lately? That last paragraph, with the "you won't enjoy this as much on PC as on Xbox" stuff, that was annoying.

Anyway, I really like the movement and pacing. It looks very fast and engaging. The only problem, on a personal level, is that I don't like mecha mixed in with non-mecha combat. I want one or the other. I've never played a game where you could get into mecha where I liked the option. The option to use them as drones, however, makes me a lot more interested than before.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Why is everything grey?

I am beginning to realize that this game is not for me.

I don't like hectic, fast paced online shooters in the style that Quake and Unreal Tournament introduced back in the day and which continues to this day with COD. They unrealistic. A man can't run and move that fast.

I prefer the tactical, team- and objective-focused online shooters such as Wolfenstein, Quake Wars, Killson and Battlefield. They realistic. That is how real warfare is like.

I prefer thinking man's shooters over twitch based. I prefer realism over unrealism.

but this game has tactical team based combat with objectives as well.  The difference is that this game plays at a very fast pace because of the quick movement speed of the characters and the mechs.  I will say that another Respawn interview stated that they wanted to do something different than realistic warfare because there is enough of them out there and its gettign boring.  I have to agree.  I really do not want another BF or COD game, give me something a little over the top which Titanfall fits the bill.

Ryan McCaffrey is a fanboy like no other at IGN , couldnt care less about his opinion.

yeah i always thought he is only a huge halo fan (that's the reason why i know who he is) but he is like a microsoft employee who has a second job at a videogame site lol.

It's pathetic how delusional sony fans are. They come into every titanfall related thread and continue to bash the game without having played it. Then they return to the Killzone thread to praise it's generic sci-fi shooter feel.

I've never ever heard of an fps thst is more fun with a contoller than with a mouse.

Seems they paid him well to make him have this opinion. But it is not the first time that he is serving his favourite company that way.

Now let's wait for a similar article from polygon .

I agree, he likes playing games on an Xbox over PC. So why wouldn't he say it's the best experience? Just like the Nintendo/PS4 fans act like their system and online is good/great. People have to realize that all gamers generally have a favorite platform and naturally favor it without remorse.

Yeah, but last paragraph not so much... It's a review, sounds like the guy has shares.

So what if he has shares and would like to see something he genuiely enjoys do well? Would you like it if later on you decided to buy Sony shares and expressed your love for the Playstation consoles and got called a fake just because you had shares in Sony? Especially if you genuinely loved the console prior to buying the shares.

Did you even read what the journalist said? He is not simply expressing his love. He is saying that you will love what he loves for no apparent reason.

He gave many reasons, but the most important was that he actually played it and thought it was great.

Haven't you ever ate something or tried something and thought "this is awesome/great"?  And then you told your friends that htis is great, try it!

I know that a lot of people here expect that you have a link or some obscure fact to have an opinion, but it simply isn't true.  I can play something and state that it is great without needing anythiing other than my opinion.  That's why there is so much debate.
