Anyone actually cares anymore about which console will have the edge or not?

N64 was the most powerful console of it's time too. look how will that turned out XD

well, it is interesting if you own xb1 and ps4  to decide which version you will buy but i wouldn't decide to buy xb1 or ps4 just because of the power difference. 

It turned out fine?  Everybody loved the N64.  Sure a lot more people bought PS1, but you can't honestly have lived through that time and tell me that the N64 was a failure.

Or did you not live through that era?

It's only relevant if it leads to games consistently performing noticeably better on one platform.

I'm going out on a limb here and saying the PS4 isn't the next gen console you're looking forward to the most, correct?

I care about the fact that the Xbone will be quite considerably less powerful and I am dissapointed.
Why? Because if we would be closer to parity and I mean Xbone upping the specs, first of all the benchmark that the games would be developed in mind with would be higher which could provide a chance for more immersive/bigger/prettier looking worlds etc.etc.
And secondly the power difference in favor off the PS4 will be overlooked by 3rd parties, cause it's not big enough to warrant doubling the framerate or upping the resolution etc. without a lot of optimisation, and because of probable MS policies that require the games to be in the ballpark of identical when launching on an Xbox and other platforms the same day.

i lived through that Era, but i meant that the N64 fell short of the PS1, perhaps i should've used the Original Xbox as an example instead.

Nope. I'm actually most interested in the PS4 as opposed to the X1. I'm just tired of these type of discussions. It was cute at first, but now I gotta wonder who even gives a hoot anymore. People have chosen their next console and the discussion is just pointless.
