Forums - Microsoft - Rare teases making Banjo, Conker, Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, and/or Other IP

What Old IP would you Like Rare to return to?

Banjo 24 36.92%

Conker 17 26.15%

Perfect Dark 10 15.38%

Viva Pinata 2 3.08%

Jet Force Gemini 5 7.69%

Kameo 5 7.69%

Other 2 3.08%

Total:65

well I don't agree with all the negs... Rare does good games today still.... beside Nintendo and sega they are the only one that did a platformer I actually really enjoyed in a decade or more... viva piñata has the numbers to prove that it was a great game.... perfect dark wasn't great but as a launch title it was one of the most original shooter we have seen in a while.... and Kinect sport 1 2 are some of the best if not the best non dancing Kinect games there are...

so yeah you might not like it but they do make good games... I am more interested by anything rare has done this gen or will do next gen than any COD activision will published... I would get BK N&B at full retail price on 360 before I get any remote interest and be impressed by anything COD.... even next gen...

I wish them to die before they do more to destroy their legacy.

Torn-City - MMO text based RPG, join me! :)

They should do new IP's not remakes, that's what made Rare so great in the N64 days. They created a massive amount of great new IP's in one generation. But i guess the Rare today isn't what it used to be.

Frankly, after what they did to Banjo and Perfect Dark on 360,I  have no interest in any revival of any of their classic IPs.

when I watched nuts and bolts teaser, i thought: dam, now i'll have to buy an xbox 360. the franchises and rare's name were that captivating to me.

nowadays i read those news and start wondering how are they gonna ruin those games even more.

sell those IPs to nintendo damit.

I wonder if the people talking about how bad Rare is actually played Kameo and Viva Pinata.  I know I got a lot of fun out of Viva Pinata and though it appeared to be a kids game it was very complex.

Kameo was a launch game that got mixed reviews.  People either loved it or didnt.  It only sold 300k so very few people has played it.

Viva Pinata sold very well though with roughly 3m sold world wide.  It is also one of the most criticly praised simulators this generation so i would hope that people have played it.

But yes, for the most part I believe that people have not played them.  I also want to mention that Conker Live & Reloaded was amazing.

I really want to get excited for this, but it just feels like a lot of empty promises. I don't think those classic IPs are really a priority for Microsoft and Rare, no matter what Woodroffe said.

Just look at Killer Instinct, a download-only, free-to-play game developed by Double Helix Games, not Rare. I don't think that's a good sign of things to come.

??????????

Killer Instinct is nott as you say.

Killer Instinct is a full 54.99 Gbp game on disc at retail on launch day. It  is also available download. But there is a free option where you get 1 character.  You  can purchase the extra caracters etc if you wis 1 at a time.

But you can buy it a 1 whole game if you wish at retail on disc.

And the game looks amazing.

Sorry for the late reply -- was gone all weekend.

So that's my bad. I was under the impression it was free-to-play and download-only. Surely this was one time the case? I hope I didn't invent that out of nowhere.

Would love to see a new Conker game if made in the style of the BFD on the N64 but i dont wanna see Banjo Kazooie get left out in the dark either!
