Why do people play Battlefield on consoles?

Why do people play games on console? I think it is the same answer... some gamers didn't like to play games on PC.

But the Battlefield games have always been optimized for PC. Unlike the Call of Duty series.

It's obvious you're going to have to accept a drop of quality.

Playing on a PC isn't the same as playing with your friends in your livingroom.

Also, the PS4 have been classified as a "top tier computer" a few times, if that is so, I would expect to be able to play a game 60fps and 1080p. I'm not saying I excpect that on 32 player mode or something, but at least on single player there should be, granted there might be, I don't know.

and Sega Genesis was so great because it had Blast Processing.  Don't always believe what your told before a console launch.

This sounds like a rush for launch, patch fest when it releases.

I agree with one of the previous comments, 1080p wont change the fact that its boringfield.
Killzone looks far more action packed and fun to play, and it will have free DLC.

Accordion to Sony fans: Resolution > gameplay

This is (at least) the second time I've seen you generalizing Sony fans in less than 24 hours. If you don't have anything to say, keep your mouth closed so we don't have to breathe in the stench.

@OP : i will have to see for my self to judge, i remember IGN said the xbox version of crysis 2 was "the best looking console game of all time"

Didn't the WiiU cop some heat for the launch games not being 1080p. Same as then, there are more important things than resolution and also don't expect third parties to showcase a system.

Thats disappointing. I think it just speaks to the fact that both Microsoft and Sony went the cheaper route this era. They've essentially released a PS2 whilst developers are building their games on Xbox's.

But we should probably stop using games running on Max settings on $1000 PCs as benchmarks of what graphics should look like on the PS4/X1 at launch. If anyone needs a reminder of the progression that within a console cycle.

It'll be a year or 2 before a PC game predates the maximum graphics potential of the PS4/X1.

The difference we saw in this generation mostly happened because forward rendering was ditched in favour of deferred rendering, while next-gen will stick to deferred rendering by default. We'll be sure to see improvement as developers start know the hardware better, but don't expect anything as big as last-gen.

gah that sucks! I got bored of BF3 quite fast though so I was unsure about this purchase.

As well as the PS3 hardware was much more complicated this gen.

I'd prefer all games be 1080p at 60FPS with less detail, but that won't happen.

Are there any links to video of BF4 on PS4?

There are some things to take into consideration...

1. They are working on multiple versions of the same game, it would be stupid to say they have maxed out the consoles before they have actually worked on their tools/pipelines or in fact while they are still focussing on current gen.
2. Multiplayer is 32x32... is no one surprised that they would need to scale stuff back .. I mean the COD videos ive seen of MP look average also.

What i want to see is Single player stuff... as that is a better reflection of performance (if 1 has been sorted out :)

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

PS4 under powered confirmed.

After all EA wouldn't intentionally sabotage this version to make the xbox one better because you know EA is a business without emotions or motives or anything like that.
