Forums - Nintendo - Developer Abandons Nintendo as Struggles Continue

Mod streak.

This was always going to be the risk for Nintendo.. they really have not done what they should have done in the launch year of the next gen consoles.

They had 1 year to impress/advertise/buy exclusives/content, and they just seem to have sat back hoping it will just turn around. It seems like they dont want to get involved in any of the games shows because they dont want to be overshadowed by the others, but I think that was totally the wrong policy.

From now till Xmas its all going to be about the next gen consoles. If Nintendo can't be bothered about their console, then i am not sure who else will be.

I did see some new advertising for Nintendo on Youtube.. but again it was terrible, it again made it sound like the Wii-u was a controller. They need to get the cheque book out and start getting stuff done.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

No great loss tbh. And if they decide to switch to smartphone gaming they'll end up going bust. There's bugger all money in it.

Dan Tudge, formerly an Electronic Arts (EA) vice president was last week announced as the new president for n-Space.

That explains it

Just about to say this. But yeah, it's likely the end of this dev now. I don't see them being viable elsewhere.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Thanks God, n-Space is terrible!

Wait, there was a Danger Girl game? The hell, I had no idea. Danger Girl was awesome. Kind of like Kim Possible except not dumb.

With the 3DS selling well, this is kind of surprising. Did the shovelware market go under? How are third-party games selling for the console on average?

It's not that they're abandoning Nintendo by choice. It's that no publishers want to touch handhelds now.

and nothing of value was lost

Strange business move. Seems most of all their games are handheld games.

Why would they abandon Nintendo? Oh well. Never bought a single game on that list, so don't care.

the last couple of games werent doing so hot on Ninty portables and its probably cheaper to develop for phones

Heroes of Ruin and Geist are the only games they've made that I played...
I like both, but not enough to care even remotely about this loss...
I got the impression that n-Space took the low sales of Heroes of Ruin very personally...
They only have themselves and their publisher (Square Enix) to blame for that...

Have a nice day...
