 Actually, the PS2 has outsold the GBA by 5 million over the long haul. But launches aligned, the GBA had outsold the PS2 by one million at this many weeks in the game. The DS has outsold the PS2 by 7 million.  So it's safe to say that the DS will definately blow past the PS2 over time. How much time? Hell, the way things are going, maybe a year and a bit.

By my estimation the DS will surprass the PS2 in Japan by November. Five million units away approxiamately, and selling just under a million month would make it about 6 months until it happens. Even if sales slow down though it'll happen during the December holiday season for sure.

360 software outselling PS3 software? If so, that is really sad, especially with Forza 2 coming out (should help big in Europe and NA and provide a healthy shot in the arm in Japan) and Trusty Bell/Eternal Sonata not that far away.


Unless I'm missing something, I don't see anything on the immediate horizon that will help Sony in Japan.

 I would cry :( Especially for the PS3 numbers (software and hardware)  there is no PS3 game in best selling top 50 in Japan this week  :(.


I don't know if I would be crying yet but I would certainly be deeply concerned.  Seeing as they're Japanese I'd also be shopping around for good hi-quality hari kari knives.  I wouldn't buy them yet but I wouldn't delude myself into thinking they don't have a good probability of being useful soon.
