Forums - Gaming - The most disappointing game of this generation

Haze - Do I have to say why?

Resistance 3, such a let down from the previous games.

Dragon Age II, If only they would have left the format like DA; Origins.

Assassins Creed III After the Ezio trilogy I didnt think they would have a hard time coming up with another great character, boy was i wrong.

Duke Nukem Forever Should be on everyones list even if they didn't play it.

I dont understand the hate for the Fallout games.

Around the Network

Ninja Gaiden Black is one of my all-time favourites so i have to say Ninja Gaiden 3.

GTA IV
Assassins Creed (almost all of them except 2)

The most dissapointing? Where were your expectations?

I'm going to go with FFXIII, don't know what saddens me the most, remembering all the expectations, or seeing copies at the garbage bins.

Melee is one of my favourite games of the fifth generation.  I was expecting Brawl to replace it in multi-player sessions with my friends.  It didn't.

To shorthand it: I was expecting more than Melee 1.5.  I was expecting a better single player mode (I really, really didn't like Subspace Emissary). I was expecting functional online.  I wasn't expecting needless additions like tripping; or lots of clones like Falco & Wolf.  Etc.

Fable 3. I like the game, but meh. I fell victim of the hype, of the promises.

Skyward Sword. Everyone was giving it the most amazing scores, but what I played paled in comparison to Twilight Princess.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

Duke Nukem Forever - Waited many years for this and it turned out to be pretty meh. Don't get me wrong I found DNF to be quite enjoyable to play through (come at me haters) but was ultimately left disappointed.. especially after all the hype.

Grand Theft Auto IV - Again, over hyped. Under delivered. Took the zaniness and fun out the GTA series.

Final Fantasy XIII - Lots of long corridors mixed with annoying, clichéd characters. The story was awful too. This isn't the FF I remember.

i feel ya dude. the game still was fun though, and i eventually hacked my Wii and installed Project M, much better now.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Uncharted 3. Uncharted 2 is one of my fave games of all time, and 3 just let me down in every way. The story bored me to death, the set pieces and locales just didn't wow me like they had before, and the shooting seemed worse.

Skyrim. Morrowind and Oblivion were both really fun, but I feel like skyrim felt stale after those two games. Not enough change, and a world that just didn't quite do it for me.

Little Big Planet 2. LBP 1 really captured my imagination. I spent about 300 hours in that game. I had 2 on launch day, but it just never did it for me the way the first game did.

Skyward Sword. Dear lord, my hype for this was immense. My favorite game of all time is Wind Waker, and this looked like that games second coming. I expected the sky to be like the ocean in wind waker, and I thought there would be lots of exploration. I got a very very padded out linear hand holding simulator.

Other M. (sigh)

Also, my biggest disappointment is the fact that burnout paradise never got a proper sequel. That was easily my favorite racing game of all time.
