Servers aren't a legitimate reason, that can be done on PS4 also. PS4 is also very similar, architecture wise to the Xbox One and PC, in fact it might even be easier to move over, due to more similarities with PS4. What about Xbox 360? The 360 is powerful enough for Titanfall, but PS4 is not? Why isn't EA funding PS4 development? |
What does console hardware have to do with getting dedicated servers or not? Your ignorance speaks volumes. When it comes to a multiplayer heavy game like titanfall servers matter. He stated he talked to both Sony and Microsoft and Microsoft most likely provided dedicated servers. So I guess in a sense that would be "buying exclutvitiy". In reality it isn't though as I'm sure Sony could have had the game provided they helped the company get dedicated servers set up.

That's because people think it's a bad thing, it's not. It's just good business. Business is all about getting the upperhand. In no way does anything I've said prove that they did. But it's what makes sense. It's not about the exclusivity, it's about the lying. They haven't given a good reason. It's like if they were to say 2+2=5. Am I supposed to accept it? |
Good reason != Something you do not believe in :)
> 2 + 2 = 5 is a lie...
> What they are saying is not; you are just not agreeing with them and think that they could get the same from Sony...
Now, you could accept it or not. At this point it is really a matter of personnal oppinions/preferences.
I'm fine with his remarks but I just don't get the context. If Microsoft are the Apple of video games when it comes to multiplayer and communal gaming, what are Apple the Apple of?
Hmm, pie.

Dude... You know that coming and replying that kind of default anwser "try to relax/calm down" hoping to get the support from other posters is not really really working anymore! Esp. when I posted with not one, but two ":)" and "lol" in response to your "joke" :) I guess you did not get mine then... Sad...
BTW I dislike Apple very much... (I do not even know why lol)

MS has a history of buying exclusivity, and Sony doesn't have any money. They are selling buildings just to stay in black. When a company doesn't give a reasonable answer when it comes to why it's exclusive, it's because they're being paid. There is no reason at all, outside of being paid, for Titanfall to be exclusive. It has nothing to do with him being biased. |
Thank you sir. I am not being biased at all. Simply saying I prefer a company to just tell the truth.
Is the truth so bad now or something? We're making a game for this console because of... umm. Just say we signed a deal and are exclusive to the Xbox.

It's kind of sad that you keep bringing up how dense and ignorant I am. It's not even an argument, it's just a personal attack. If the game can be run on PS4, why don't they release it? And yes the game can be run on PS4. It's hardly doing anything ambitious, it's running on Xbox 360, PC and Xbox One. Nothing the PS4 can't handle even without dedicated servers. This game isn't able to run on Xbox One just because of the servers. If that was the reason, why are they considering bringing it to PS4? |
Cost? A small studio may not have the extra cash to port it over right away. They said they'd be willing to bring it over based on the games success. A key piece of info you seemed to have forgotten. Secondly they stated why they wanted dedicated servers. Had you taken the time to fully read over the article you would see they went over latency and such. It's a multiplayer heavy game. I don't understand why you are only focusing on the hardware. I wasn't attacking you personally, but pointing it out so maybe you would actually open up and consider that THE SERVERS ARE IMPORTANT FOR AN ONLINE GAME. He OPENLY STATED that Microsoft essentially paid for the dedicated serves. No lying going on at all. The servers if you bothered comprehending the article at all which apparently you didn't were a huge part of why he did it. He never once mentioned it being a hardware issue. Since it is not. It's about the SERVERS mostly.
