Forums - Microsoft - Titanfall designer on Xbox exclusivity: "Microsoft is like the Apple of videogames"

Also if you do research there are many different articles that talk about the differences between cloud computing and dedicated servers.

Cloud computing and Cloud servers are entirely different things. I also attempted to word it in such a way that would erase any questions, but apparently I failed. I am aware cloud computing has been around and suggested that. I was referring to the modern definition of "cloud". Dedicated servers back then had seperate task than servers set up specifically for cloud computing. Cloud computing has been in research for a while, but due to latency limitations it hasn't always been relevant/ready for commercial usage.

Every server can do cloud computing... Cloud Computing is a lot of Server together doing tasks for the client host.

There is no modern definition.

Just that the Server power and tech reach a level that you can use it to do more taks than they did before... so for the marketing purpose they started to use the word "Cloud" but even the word is old in computer world.

There is no difference after all and nobody in the world can say an difference example because they are the same thing.

I wouldn't even bother with him. This isn't the first thread he's done this in lol

What do you know about Cloud computing?

It's not what I know about the Cloud, clouds, cloud computing, clouds shaped like animals, or rain clouds.

It's what I know about him/her. Will argue a point even when he's dead wrong. Attempts to insult you. Also is a little over the top with the drama imo.

I'm not the one with the delusion that every studio that comes out with an Xbox exclusive is suddenly being money hatted by microsoft. Even though the studio gave a perfectly acceptable reason which happened to be Dedicated game servers. Which they suggested Microsoft helped cover the cost of. There was no lying about anything. Flat out calling the Titanfall developers is a little overdramatic especially without valid proof I'd say. You've also offered no proof to as why I'm "dead wrong". Considering most of what I've been doing was quoting the developers own words and giving a valid reason to what they might have meant I wouldn't consider myself "dead wrong". Also I may have been off on my entire definition of the dedicated servers. Doing a little more research I was partially correct.Microsoft offered them the cheapest rates on their gigantic server farms. http://www.vg247.com/2013/06/25/titanfall-developer-explains-advantages-of-microsofts-cloud/ This article takes it way more in depth why the developers made their choice. Yes it had to do with money. Moneyhatting? If you consider a massive discount on servers moneyhatting then yes.

honestly didn't bother to read.

Are you dumb enough to think this is a deal between respawn and Microsoft? It's a deal between EA and Microsoft.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-12-will-titanfall-ever-come-to-playstation-respawn-and-ea-weigh-in

From EA Obviously a business relationship between Electronic Arts, Respawn and Microsoft led to this," EA Games Label boss Patrick Söderlund - the executive directly responsible for managing Titanfall - told Eurogamer. "There are always reasons for that, but we can't go into them."

Of course! But, from EA's perspective, will Titanfall ever come to PlayStation, perhaps after Xbox exclusivity has ended?

"We haven't communicated anything on that, and I can't comment on that right now," Söderlund replied, before adding: "We're proud to be exclusive to Xbox."

Yeap sounds like it's about Dedi servers lol

Clearly there is some deal between Respawn and Microsoft, but since you were too arrogant to read my post you didn't notice the link I posted that led to the complete discussion.

I don't know why we continue to go down this road on interent forums. Microsoft doesn't compete with PC gaming. never have and never will. Hell they release some of their OWNED IP's on PC. So yes it is an Xbox exclsuive because as of right now there is no PS3 or PS4 version announced or in development.

I don't know why we continue to go down this road, either. If a game is available on another platform, it isn't exclusive.

I prefer truth. Microsoft paid. It's easy to say and understand. It's no different than COD or BF... other than Titan Fall not being as big a franchise as those 2 are.

Basically what I hear from you is "Titanfall isn't on the PS4 SO MICROSOFT HAD TO HAVE PAID!" I'm sorry, but I bet if it was a PS4 exclusive you wouldn't even consider for a moment Sony paid. I don't even have interest in Titanfall or the Xbox One. Actually my next home console will be a PS4, but come on seriously? How biased do you have to get?

MS has a history of buying exclusivity, and Sony doesn't have any money. They are selling buildings just to stay in black.

When a company doesn't give a reasonable answer when it comes to why it's exclusive, it's because they're being paid.  There is no reason at all, outside of being paid, for Titanfall to be exclusive.

It has nothing to do with him being biased.

Oh poor Sony. They don't have any monies!!!

Any company that makes an exclusive for a console is being paid by that console maker. It's not like devs make games for Microsoft because MS pays them while Sony is somehow getting devs to make exclusives for their console because they're just really really nice guys that deserve to have exclusive given to them for free.

There is no reason for any game to be exclusive aside from money being paid. Period.

It's hilarious how people act like MS is doing something wrong just because they actually have money, and Sony gets a pass because they are almost in finacial ruin.

I agree but MS just listed Destiny like Xbone exclusive... I'm confuse now with the definition of "exclusive" for MS.

I find this type of erotica very interesting. A group of guys practice some kind of multiplayer hate-masturbation. This fetishistic behaviour kindov annoys me due to exaggerated public behaviour and lack of respect towards the minority.

Oh. Well, see, Microsoft doesn't compete with PC or Playstation. Never have and never will. So yes, it is an Xbox exclusive because as of right now there is no Wii U version announced or in development.
