Forums - Nintendo - IGN : The Wonderful 101 Review

Why I'm not surprised you are the one who posted this?

Anyway, every since the beginning people were complaining about the controls, there's apparently a big learning curve, which imo is one of the stupidest reasons to give a game a "bad" score. I can see another ZombiU type reviews where the reviewers either hated it or loved it.

I also wonder.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Man this game looks embarassingly childish. How could I not be ashamed to play it in public?

It looks cool though... something to play locked in my room, alone.

LMAO, you got issues then, this game is a very fast paced and its chaotic. somebody laugh at me playing this game, i'd give them a turn then i'll be laughing at them seeing em get whooped in an embarassingly childish game :0

That's how most teens act when they are in puberty. Never understood this line of thought.

if its not M rated its immature :P

You know. It's not easy for these game sites to actually find people whom are good at games AND decent writers. As I see it, W101 is what is called a game that requires execution skills (using a fighting game term) to master. Keza obviously lack execution skills. Which is why she would be completely destroyed if she ever competed in a game. That is kinda the problem when employing people whom is'nt skilled gamers and have them review games.

Something similar happened with Gamespot's Zelda Skyward Sword review. The reviewer sucked at the controls and assumed we must all suck as much as him.

Still, a review is just a glorified opinion, so they're within their rights to suck at the game. We just need to not take them so seriously.

The IGN person (can't think of her name) has been harping on about the controls from the get go.

Having played the demo I can't say I had any particular issue, this might change when you have more moves to execute but I think this game has definitely earned the benefit of the doubt.

7.4 means the game is good. Were you guys expecting a masterpiece?

LMAO

Ign = 7.4
Ign Italty= 9.5 FTW

Edit:  when people dont want to learn new controls or they dont give the time of day this is what happens, same could be said with Kid Icarus Uprising. New controls, critics rip on them but actually easily top 5 best games on 3ds (my favorite)

Your lot gives a 9-10 score to those games before they're even out. And when people who have actually played the game from start to finish give their opinion, and it doesn't match with that score you gave to it before even playing, you whine, complain and make all sorts of silly excuses to condemn the reviewer. That's ridiculous.

This IGN's reviewer isn't a troll. Her review is pretty balanced and she actually explains her criticism...  *sigh.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, grow up!

So far a lot of the reception sounds really familiar. Hectic, unpredictable, controls giving people more trouble than they ought to... 25 chapters?

Reminds me strongly of Kid Icarus: Uprising, still for my money the best 3DS game, still easily my favorite at the very least. It makes me want W101 even more.
