Two times i've tried to sit down and play GTA 4, two times i've only gotten a few missions into the game before i turn it off because of boredom. This is what got a billion 10 out of 10's. I will have a hard time trusting reviewers this time
Hopefully not as biased reviews as GTA IV, that was ridiculous.
Good game, but not the crowning moment of gaming that the reviews made them out to be.

I think GTA IV was rated as highly as it was because reviewers let hype cloud their judgement. In 2008 there was no bigger property than GTA, not even COD. It was a pretty much universally loved property. The only game that could even come close to generating that level of hype back then would've been Halo 3, but even then it paled in comparison. GTA IV was feuled by hype and few reviewers actually sat down to judge the game on its merit.
Hopefully with GTA V reviewers will judge the game on merit. I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm going to get the game either way but whether I get it week one or later (used or price drops) depends on whether the reviews tell me the GTA IV problems are fixed. I'll probably just listen to user reviews this time around.
The highest-rated game ever is in fact Grand Theft Auto IV actually. It averages 98% based on 86 reviews whereas Zelda: OoT is 99% based on only 22 and as we all should know, the more reviews used means the more variation in the scores which will pretty much always bring down the average, especially when the troll reviews (which are much more prevalent now than in 1998) come along and bring down the average a few % for hits. If Zelda: OoT averaged 99% based on 75+ reviews then fair enough, only 22? Nope, look at the 3DS remake which is at 94% based on 85 reviews.
I don't think it's possible for GTA V to top 98%, it could equal that though. I think it will average 96-98% and unlike GTA IV, it looks like it actually deserves that insane amount of acclaim.
It would actually get a lot of perfect scores. And yet we can't know, reviewers can be sometimes silly, banning a game for not "feeling of déjavu"
