Surely you are f**** then. But as the lense won't be stressed like this gen, this problem shouldn't be so often like ylod is now. Do other games work?

Well this is how my lense is right now, all dual-layered discs don't work, shame because those are some of my favorite games like MGS4, GoW3, and Uncharted 3.  For single layered discs, when I start up my PS3 it makes this weird ejecting noise then the game doesn't show up on the XMB, if I leave my PS3 on for like 30 min then turn if off and back on then it can read single-layered discs, but still can't read dual-layered discs.  Its really weird.

Are you sure about the PS4?  I know the Xbox One does, but I haven't seen any sort of confirmation for PS4.

Are you sure about the PS4?  I know the Xbox One does, but I haven't seen any sort of confirmation for PS4.

I have no idea if they are more fragile. All I know is I've had ps2 and Wii reading error problems, never on ps3. And I have a 300+ blu-ray collection next to games, it's getting plenty use.
If you can open it up maybe you can replace the drive with one from a dead ylod model. I've got one sitting on my shelf from a ylod phat model. I had to get the disc out after it died.

I'd rather wait for a PS3 price drop then get a new PS3 then get Last of Us main reason is because lets say I buy Last of Us, that is an amazing game and I know I'm gonna want to replay it long after I buy it, if Sony shuts down the PSN on the PS3 and my PS3 breaks then I lost the game forever, and I don't trust my PS3 to keep working, I mean the lense already crapped out, whose to say the console isn't to follow.
