Why is it such a big deal? I can understand if this was a "which is better" comparison but its just comparing sales of dedicated video game systems.

That sounds better. I don't think Smash is coming early next year though -- I think I remember Sakurai saying something about the two versions not necessarily coming out at the same time, and the Wii U version seems like the one they're prioritizing. So it wouldn't surprise me if the 3DS version comes out later rather than sooner.



i hope 3DS version comes first, btter to have the superior one later so 3DS sales wont be overshadowed! plus will get more hyped!

The Wiiu version def needs to come out first. The Wiiu definately needs it.

If video games are all the same market, iphones would have to be included. Handhelds have ALWAYS been a different market for a different demograph. They are cheaper, portable and sell to MOSTLY kids. The only thing that the 3DS and Wii U have in common is they play games. But again, iphones play games, and we don't include them on this site.

Comparing handhelds and consoles started because of fanboys. That's the ONLY reason it even started.

Nope, handhelds and consoles are video game systems that can also do other features. Iphone is a phone that also has other features, games being one of them. Completely different scenarios.

The next system in line after the N64 is the Sega Genesis, which the 3DS will almost certainly surpass this year.

The SNES will take a bit longer but it'll definitely happen next year; probably about halfway through.
