PlayStation 3 was the No.1 console of the summer in the UK with some help from 2013’s second best selling game.

The Last of Us has overtaken BioShock: Infinite as the UK’s No.2 game of the year so far, despite only being available on one format. It is only beaten in Chart-Track’s rankings this year by Square Enix’s Tomb Raider.

And it has had a big impact on PS3 hardware sales. Sony’s console has trended ahead of 360 throughout summer.

“The success of The Last of Us is testament to the vision and quality of Naughty Dog, plus the tremendous support we've received from retail and media partners, who helped make it one of the year’s best selling games,” said SCE UK marketing director Murray Pannell.

I facepalm more and more why MS hasn't price cut the 360 skus at this point, even when their successor is launching in a few months lol

Why are vgchartz still claiming the 360 is outselling the ps3 there? wasn't it confirmed last month, that the ps3 sold better

Id assume by Summer they mean its from the start of June.

From June 1st until now on VGChartz...

360 - ~77k
PS3 - ~60k

So adjustments are likely.

I know a 360 gamer obsessed with Gears who bought a PS3 just for Last of Us. That said I never quite understood as a games tutor why he only owned one console, he should have all 3 to get the best out of gaming on all 3 so he can teach certain features better.

And VGC deny the obvious since June lol

PS3 even sold more than 3DS in June.

I'm sure TLoU will overtake Tomb Raider soon.
