So basically, Nintendogs "copied" pet simulators from the PC etc and expanded on them with additional content.

Perfectly acceptable wow amaze!

A small studio "copies" pet simulators from the PC, inc additional enhancements Nintendogs had, adds even more stuff to it.

LOL COPYING NINTENDO AGAIN! The hypocrisy of some people is laughable.

Spot on.

This is the exact same thing as PSAS all over again. Nintendo didn't invent the mascot fighter, either, but it's clear which one Sony used as the framework of their own. Same thing here.

I also don't recall anyone on this particular site calling Nintendogs "amazing."

And you have to admit, this is pretty funny.

Having watched the trailer, it looks more like it was more inspired by the Sims Pets expansions than Nintendogs. I can definitely see this having an appeal especially with the augmented reality stuff.

Not my cup of tea either way. But I actually don't see how this is copying Nintendogs any more than Bioshock copied Half Life.

I don't think this will sold even a half million but if it was created by Nintendo it would sold millions and millions

Of course it would.  Because.

a) Nintendo has created a fan base that would be receptive to this type of game.

b) Didn't have dogs asking if their butts look big.

c) Nintendo released the game 8 years ago while an in depth virtual pet on a handheld with a touch screen was still novel.

i hope you can bite people and see a lot of blood in the game or kids/teens between 10-16 won't be interested in it.

poll = flawed. poll needs WHAT AN INNOVATION! as an option

Sony innovating again

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Graphically it bears no resemblance to the Sims at all. The art style is very similar to Nintendogs.

Despite its name, the only pets I saw on display were dogs. In The Sims can't you have horses and stuff?

PSVita Pets is also presented in first-person, unlike The Sims and so very much like Nintendogs.

I more meant with the whole "go on adventure" crap. My Fiancee plays a lot of Sims, and that has that sort of thing in now. The last Sims I played was the first one, and that just seemed to be build a house, have a family, customise it all. So that series has certainly changed a lot too ha.

The first person, art style etc, is more like PC Pup though that came out for Windows in the mid-late 90s. So Nintendogs was clearly also inspired by that.

I'm not saying the success of Nintendogs won't have heavily influenced design choices made with the game. But Nintendogs in turn had also borrowed a lot of the concepts it featured.

0.05 million lifetime (incl. bundles).

I don't think this will do well, but certainly over 50k.

This game should be F2P, with lots of accessoires to waste money on^^
