It will be hard. Even the 3DS struggled with it. But I think now that we know it will not be the core system like so many wanted due to 3rd parties neglect and Nintendo mistakes casuals will get more attention. Will they remember how much fun this was? I hope so. But the 3DS did not try too hard and the Brain age game came when the system was in bad shape if I remember correctly.

I hope that it will change with the wii u. A home console for the family.

Isn't the 3DS a core system now? They tried casual stuff at first, didn't work, and now it's mostly about traditional games. I personally love the way the 3DS is now, so I secretly hope Wii Fit/Party U fail so the same can happen with Wii U. :L

i think your wish will come true regardless, these games arent going to do anywhere near as well as the Wii versions not even close. Wii U IMHO has had that core system vibe from day one.

Considering that shit like "Let's Dance" and whatever else "uber-casual" titles that still come out on Wii STILL sell in the millions of copies, then yes, I'd say that a healthy chunk of that audience is still there, and could indeed be lured by something like a Wii Fit U.

just to play devil's advocate id argue that they are buying those games on Wii because they HAVE a Wii and alot of those types of games have seen decline in their sales, even Just Dance; not a large decline but one nontheless. Are these people really going to pluck down 350+ for a game that might just be a bit better than what they already have? They didnt do it for Just Dance 4 on Wii U

I don't think so. I think the casual already played Wii Fit, their balance board have been collecting dust after they played like 3hours, and they won't feel the need to upgrade.

This could be true. My parents haven't touched Wii Fit in years. Seriously, the balance board is in the exact same place lol!

I'm fairly certain Wii Party U is tabbed for October, and Wii Fit U has a December release.

There is also Sonic & Mario Olympics coming to Wii U that will also help to bring in that market. And for whatever it's worth, Angry Birds Trilogy also just released for the console.

Problem is I bet these games could sell a million or two and still be very profitable as I doubt it took much to make these games. They'd have to sell practically nothing for Nintendo to stop being stubborn and give up trying to cater to the casual audience.

I still say the Wii U is too expensive to have casual appeal.

Casuals buy the cheap option because they don't care enough to invest a large mount of money.

Lol, same thing here. Our balance board has been under the living room table for almost 2 full years now. My mom was the one who asked me to buy WiiFit for her. She really enjoyed it, she thought it was really fun. She played alot for a week than stoped playing for like 10months... Eventualy she decided she should start again, she took the resolution to replay WiiFit 30min a day, it lasted 2days and then she stopped playing again for like 2years.

Now we have a WiiU at home, I know my mom won't ask me to buy WiiFitU cause she knows she won't play enough. I think ALOT of family is in the same boat, and if my mom is not interested into buying the game despite us already having the system, alot of ppl getting a WiiU for this sounds even more unlikely.

What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

Personally, I think that a well made (and well marketed) Wii Sports 3 bundle could do far more than either of these games ever would.

It'd just have to be when the console/game/Wii remote plus bundle could retail for around $250.
