I think if they're going to do retro tracks as DLC it should be free, but I would pay for more new tracks further down the line.

For example, do an additional four retro cups and four new cups in the 12 months after release, but release one free retro cup every month over a four month period, then release the four new cups together as a "Grand Prix" paid DLC pack. That's the approach I'd take, anyway.

I don't think entire cups would be free, just like how there was never a free map pack in Awakening. Just a single track for a limited time, just like the first map in Awakening. I think they may have also done this with NSMB2.

Always wished for DLC tracks for Mario Kart Wii instead of the lame "challenges" we got.

MK games are some of the best games ever, but once you've played it to death, know the ins and outs of every track and are playing obscenely well you crave more tracks. I don't mind how they do it, retail discs containing additional tracks, dlc, whatever.

Or...... lets be open minded about this: how about a track editor? Create and upload your own tracks which can be played offline or online - thus infinite tracks - if you want Baby Park or Snes Rainbow Road, make it - if you have your own bold vision of a tough track, make it. It would be a switch on or off feature to be used by experts. Much less irritating than Mirror Mode and with infinite potential.

A track maker would be godsend, but I think it'd also be very complicated both to implement and to use. Then again I believe LBP Karting had a track creator, and if so then there's no reason Mario Kart can't have one aswell. We probably won't get one in MK8 though.

Now that you can race upside down etc it might be too complex, but even if the feature was quite limited and you could only adjust the length of track, where the corners are and the angle of the corners with a couple of fixed templates for tunnels and loop the loops I would be a happy man.

Sadly, very unlikely.

We can hope!

The only DLC I would really care for is the ability to race the tracks backwards like some of the MKWii challenges.

Heh, that strangely reminds of a thing me and my friends used to do where we covered up the top screen with a post-it note and only used the bottom screen in MKDS. Good times, goooood times!

That would be cool, to have tracks that incorporate multiple franchises.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
