Forums - Nintendo - Wii U still has not been restocked over a week after it sold out at my Walmart!

Oh snap! Pikmin 3? How many copies were sold on GC? Defintely restock it! ; )

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Well it's not selling quite as well as it is suppose to so it's understandable. It's like how the Vita isn't being stocked in my local Targets because of lack of demand. The shelf space retailers have is very valuable and systems that sell well get restocked more often is all.

I see that with the Vita as well, but usually they just leave it blank. I do not understand this. Then months or weeks later vita comes back. Why waste the space unless you are going to repurpose it?

All they could do in my store is add more wii stuff.

LOL...because both systems are selling at pathetic levels that it wouldn't make sense to hold them in stock unless there was a compelling software that was to release on those systems.  It is quite pathetic for Nintendo to have 90% of their library be composed of launch titles 8 months after launching.  The Vita had a couple of compelling software releases for nearly two years now but those have yet to bear fruit on sales for the system.  Nintendo and Sony have their problems with these systems.  The question is now which one has the bigger one?  A system that doesn't sell because you release nearly 0 software for it, or a system that flounders despite the numerous quality software released on it.

Why would they? No ones buying the damn thing.

I think it would be wise to start restocking it, since Pikmin 3 just launched.

They need to fire and overhaul their whole marketing team first; and then market the hell out of those games. Only after that restocking more Wii U would make sense.

That doesn't surprise me. If there has been a recent surge in demand, it'll probably take a bit of time for them to adjust. The Target I work at has not received a new shipment of Wii U consoles since launch. We finally ran out in the back room just the other day, but that's because they put four more out on the sales floor (so there are 6 out there right now).

We get Xbox 360 consoles in pretty regularly, because they sell a lot faster. Really, we don't sell many consoles that aren't a 360 or a 3DS. We sell a few PS3's, fewer Wii's, very few Wii U's, and... the PSP sells more consoles than the Vita, despite this store having literally no PSP games out on the sales floor at all.

I agree, Nintendo's advertisements nowadays are laughable

I know right! It seems at time that Nintendo's marketing team is made up of anti-Nintendo fanboys and purposely messing up Nintendo's marketing attempts. It's really that bad!

If Wal-Mart stops restocking WiiU, then Nintendo will be in big trouble.

They have never had more than 3 -10 in stock at the same time, but times that by all the Walmarts then yes, it would hurt. Especially when it picks up. I am not sure what it going on. 360's are restocked weekly it seems.

I wonder how long until we start hearing some good news about the WiiU.

Sales went up 183% in Japan when Pikmin 3 launched a few weeks ago; next week we might see a similar boost in NA.

Should we be worried? Or is this normal for Walmart.

I was just thinking about the recent ASDA thing, and then aren't they discontinuing the Basic model?

What is taking so long?

Wii U isn't going anywhere. It's most likely Walmart's fault. Walmart sucks. I should know, I work at one.

Check out my art blog: http://jon-erich-art.blogspot.com

nintendo still having supply restraints ? they should really fix it :p

but honest ... i cant really blame walmart.
hopefully there will be another time where it will sell like sliced bread eh the wii.

Can`t you ask your manager or someone there why it`s taking so long to fix that situation?
