Aaaah, people are already pretending they didn't understand my point. It's not a matter of "pokemon doesn't release every year" or "Ruby/Sapphire is different from X/Y"

Red and Blue are the same game. Gold and Silver are the same game. Ruby and Sapphire are the same game, and so on. They release on the same game. People buy both of them and are perfectly fine with it. But to buy Modern Warfare today and Black Ops one year later is a terrible, terrible thing, as you're supporting copy-and-paste game development.

But it's Nintendo. They can do it with all of their franchises.. They're innovators after all.

Dear god you're ignorant. Everybody knows there are always two versions of one Pokemon game that release on the SAME day and they choose to buy them both if they like to collect. Besides I never heard someone buying both versions EVER. You're pretending everyone who loves Pokemon do buy both versions = 'proving' your point with false information. Are you religious?

Also, COD is released every year and Pokemon once per 3 to 5 years. You don't simply make a 90 hour single player. Every game has 150 new Pokemon with new worlds, Gym's, better graphics and I think that's enough. A boring 3-hour singleplayer doesn't justify 60 dollars a year.

Nintendo gets a free pass, because they create some of the most memorable quotes in video game history.

Any objections, lady?

Yes, "I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!" is truly a fantastical quote. I had to google it since I couldn't remember a single quote =(

Since Pokémon isn't released every year, Nintendo can easily get away with it. Not exactly the same case with CoD. And Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, etc., aren't exactly the same game. Each game version of one generation has(just a few) different Pokémon to capture. Isn't that exactly what happens with CoD, except that instead of new Pokémon, you have(just a few) new multiplayer maps?

They are exactly the same game, yes. A few different Pokemon does not qualify as "different games".

And Call of Duty has completely different campaigns for each title. And every now and then, I go and play some CoD splitscreen with my friends. The difference is pretty noticeable. Like I said, whether you like it or not, they are different.

whats that supposed to mean?

last time I checked, a new pokemon gen is released every 3 or 4 years, always bringing more than 100 new pokemon, honing the gameplay mechanics and keeping balance between creatures.

call of retrocess is a rehashed franchise that get's released every year on the same engine and it's basically the same game on different scenarios.

What this proves is that you are young. Young and naive.

Oh please. I know every single one of the first 251 Pokemon.

Don't you dare call me young. Young and naive.
