Except I didn't say no one will play them, I said they'll be overshadowed. And the base of my assumption is the FACT that both Pokémon and GTA are going to outsell all PS4 or Xbone software this Holiday. Killzone may sell a respectable amount but it's not going to sell 5 million in its first 6 weeks on the market because the PS4 probably isn't going to sell that fast. And GTA selling 10-20 million while Xbone and PS4 titles struggle to hit 10% of those sales is very much overshadowing them.

So no one is allowed to be hyped cause bigger selling IP's are releasing around the same time? 

It doesn't matter. Point is, the games will still sell and other games releasing around the same time doesn't take away from their quality, thus it's perfectly reasonable for people to get excited for them. 

I mean you flat out said, "I don't see why anyone would be hyped for them." and I gave you an explanation, even if other games outsell them doesn't take away the quality of the games, nor sales, nor reception from the actual  fans. Stop spouting non-sense. Kthxbai.

This is a thread about the 3DS stealing the spotlight from the Xbone and PS4. And on the software side, those consoles won't have any slice of the spotlight. I named three games that will outsell their entire catalogue this Christmas. You can be hyped for whatever you want, but the number of people upgrading to a PS4 or Xbone this Holiday is going to be fewer than the number of people playing Pokémon X or Y alone, never mind the rest of the 3DS lineup. We "hardcore" gamers are pretty hyped for new consoles. The market is hyped for games.

I don't know why you bring up the quality of the games or the reception from fans. They have nothing to do with this thread.

Literally the first thing you posted was why would anyone be hyped for them? I brought up quality and reception because those are two reasons, despite they will be outsold handily. Your initial statement is what were discussing and seeing as you've now backtracked on it, carry on. 

It won't steal their spotlight. They'll sell out (in more ways than one) and be advertised beyond belief. The 3DS will quietly sell millions though. Can't wait to see sales early next year. That will be next gen's time to prove itself.

People get hyped for hype's sake. How do you measure hype? Sales.

If you think that Dead Rising 3 will be so good that it will get 9s and 10s and manufacture hype, by all means go ahead and think that. But you haven't convinced me that any of the games you named are going to be GOTY contenders, and therefore you haven't convinced me that they will steal the spotlight from the games everyone is actually busy playing while a few hardcore fans are on VGChartz raving about the games slipping under the radar everywhere else.

Seriously, November is GOTY time. Everyone's going to go back to talking about The Last of Us.

In Japan the 3DS will dominate the PS4, if it releases.
In the west PS4/Xbone will take the spotlight from 3DS meaning less HW and less SW sales then they should have had.
