Forums - Nintendo - Is the 3DS going to steal the spotlight from the Xbone and PS4 this Christmas?

This has probably been said a thousand times before, but you can't compare handhelds and consoles.

Yes. Especially with Pokemon & Zelda here in the US and MH4 In Japan. 3DS will take the crown this year again. But who knows about next holiday?

of course yes. Like it did with Wii U, it will sell more than PS4/X180/U/PS3/360/Wii/DS/Vita/PSP/ETC

3DS Domination in Japan, it will outsell everything put together.

West? No it wont take spotlight, but pokemon and LoZ will make 3DS sky rocket this holiday for sure, making it #1 in sales !

It's going to kick the crap out of everything in terms of sales, but spotlight in the west will be on the new consoles.

Maybe in Japan but i don't know. The 3DS will do really well anyway and should be the top system this Christmas regardless of new consoles coming out or not.

Weekly it has been getting really close to the 360 in America. Which is amazing. The 360 sells so well here. I cannot believe it. But now the 3DS just got yet another game for it that is big. I do not think the 360 can hold it off for long. Maybe beat it for the whole year though.

at this point, no matter what releases on ps360, it won't affect hardware sales. 3ds is still a growing console though.

p.s.: add zelda a link between worlds to your list.

I assume it will, and there will be many console available this holiday:
PS3
PS4
PSP
PSV
DS
3DS
Wii
WiiU
360
XBO

No it won't because the 3DS have a different audience compare to the consoles gamers, but there will be no doubt it will mostly likely outsells the new consoles like crazy.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

People interested in a ps4/x1 aren't exactly the same market interested in the 3ds. Well that is for the west, for japan yes it will and by far

3DS will probably dominate in most regions (saleswise), especially with its lineup, but to be fair, it is a lot cheaper than PS4/X1, so it will be more likely to be given as a gift than either of those two. Won't steal their thunder though, people will still buy consoles.
