Still horrible sales, but yes it shows that software will help. Hopefully the sales average per week remains 10k now, and will gradually increase with each significant game release.

That would be nice, Pikmin 3 brings the baseline to 10k, Wonderful 101 to 12k, Wind Waker to 15k, Party U to 18k, DKC to 22k, Fit U to 25k, 3D World to 30k. How cool would that be

Even 3ds is still trying to figure out how to be number one in us weekly. Tough crowd!

I know right! Not even Animal Crossing had much of an effect on the baseline. If Pokemon X/Y can't bring it above 50k a week average, then 3DS is doooomed!

Then $100 price cut + MK8 bring it to 50k! Wii U no longer doomed!

he should really source the op. The info is from playeressence.com

Pikmin 3 definitely helped sell some consoles. Unfortunately, most consumers are waiting for a price drop on the game as well as the Wii U itself. Now that it's released in the US, we'll see even bigger sales, but still, Pikmin 3, although it's an AMAZING game, isn't the big system seller.

September will see The Wonderful 101 - Slight increase in Wii U sales
October will see The Wind Waker HD and Sonic Lost World - SIGNIFICANT Wii U sales. Huge increase.
November will see DKC: Tropical Freeze - Slight increase
December will see Super Mario 3D World - Huge increase in Wii U sales

This is a great end-of-the-year lineup for Nintendo.

Of course, the REAL numbers won't hit until we finally see Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros...but it's safe to say that I'm sure Nintendo will announce some in-between system sellers.

At E3 next year, expect some BIG stuff.

Wii U is already shaping up to be a fantastic console.

Surprise, surprise, games sell consoles, who would have thought.

Not enough. Sadly Pikmin 3 doesn't have any effect in Europe like expected. Europe doesn't really appreciate real games. Mostly cinematic games sell in Europe.

No doubt W101 will help ever so slightly, until WWHD knocks it out the park, ready for the other titles.

An hd remaster isn't going to set the world on fire

It is a start albeit a tiny one. It will get better.

I hope I am wrong but somehow I think people pinning hopes on Zelda:WWHD and Wii Fit U selling systems are in for a big disappointment.

WWHD seems to me like a last minute idea to rush an old game to a new system, to get software out there. In other words being lazy. I already played it and have no interest in an HD version. I of course, speak for myself.

Wii fit U... that was a wii fad. How many people still use their wii fit boards is a mystery but going from the five people I know that bought the game on the wii, they have it packed away in the basement or attic. I really don't see them buying a new console for that again.

The wii u has a strong lineup to sell systems but I don't see these games as being among them.

I think you are underestimating the importance of Pikmin in Japan. The two others games stand at the 10th and 11th ranks of best selling games of all time for the Gamecube. Each sold more than games like Resident evil 4, Pokemon Xd gales of Darkness, Tales of Symphonia, Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario. Pikmin should have moved more units but will end probably around 250 k which is two time less than the past games. The Gamecube was already a console that sold poorly in Japan. It does not look good for the Wiiu a all. I definetly hope it will change but again, I think you are overestimating the impacts of next releases. Probably only Mario will make some real difference which will probably not be a big one anyway... PS I thing the Wonderful 101 will bomb which is pretty sad...
