lol at 24% advantage lol

They used a way strong GPU than the Xbox One to reach these results.

And the guys here uses like it is true.

I did mention it was in theory :P Digital foundry were just testing for the theoretical difference when accounting for nothing but the 50% higher amount of graphical computing power. I assumed, when he said about being 50% stronger, that he had read their findings but not gone on far enough to see that it didn’t result in a 50% performance increase, but rather a 24%.

I did read it early last week, so if I’ve remembered that all wrong I’d appreciate knowing what i've forgotten/missunderstood :)

DF downclocked the GPUs to fits the theorical FLOPS for Xbone and PS4 but forget that the numbers os units are different... they used a GPU with 32ROPs and 64 TMUS instead 16ROPs and 48TMUs of Xbone.

Of couse the 50% won't be showed if you didn't put every specs of the GPU at 50% difference.

Xbone -> PS4 (Old Xbone clock)
12CUs -> 18CUs
16ROPs -> 32ROPs
48TMUs -> 72TMUs
1.23TFLOPS -> 1.84TFLOPS
800Mhz -> 800Mhz

DF comparison
16CUs -> 24CUs
32ROPS -> 32ROPS
64TMUs -> 96TMUs
1.23TFLOPS -> 1.84TFLOPS
600Mhz -> 600Mhz

The ROPs itself are 100% more in DF test than Xbone.

Like I said 12GB is weird... 16GB is fine but 12GB won't happen... they will have performance issues to use 12GB at full bandwidth.

too bad...

*Evil laugh*

I believe if MS delayed the console to 2014.

Yeah, there's no way this will happen if they're releasing in November.

The article based this increase in RAM because MS upclocked the GPU but they forget to say that change the clock of the componente can be made even after release with a new FW... now add more RAM need to be made before to start the mass production.

It is August... Xbone is already in mass production for sure.

Exactly.  I've modified the clock speeds and memory timings on computers in college in my dorm room.  Unlike a PC though, these consoles aren't sitting there with open DIMM slots.  All this stuff was engineered quite awhile ago, and like you said, it's already in mass production.  This basically boils down to what is logically possible versus physically possible at this stage.

Like others are saying, careful you don't step in the bullshit.

6 gb of Ram to the OS? Not sure what the use in that would be.

Black magic and time travel.

I called it! Yo I'm godlike.

So basically, the word "RAM" is the new "Bits".

There is no better ram than more ram.

In 32bit Windows, more RAM could be a bad thing.
