Pokemon sales in the West (NA+Europe) in millions:

Red/Green/Blue: 20.16
Gold/Silver: 15.18
Ruby/saphire: 9.96
Diamond/Pearl: 10.65
Black/White: ~8.9? (Europe sales are somehow messed up so I used the 1.5 NA: Europe ratio to estimate Europe sales)
Black/White 2: 3.39

Obviously I do not see X/Y selling less than B/W 2 in the West but I can definitely see it selling less than B/W

Selling less then black and white? How did you come to that? black and white had the best opening to a pokemon game to date, with it's legs being cut short due to a new handheld

You should be comparing it to diamond and pearl, considering the both came out at the same point

and pokemon black and white 2 actually sold more then platinum

I think we also need to consider digital downloads for X/Y.

Lots of peeps I know and me included don't have preorders cause we are getting it digitally.

I mean we aren't talking a huge chunk of sales but enough to make a difference.

Amazed that next gen multiplatform games are well ahead on PS4.

I'm guessing the pre-orders for Xillia are pretty damn good?

Most first week numbers exceed the pre orders, but sometimes the diffrence is very minimal.

I have a strong feeling that people in US still think that PSN multiplayer is free on PS4. So a lot of people might be looking at the situation that XBox One is 560$ while PS4 is 400$. Could be wrong though and they are just looking at the 110$ difference.

I was almost sure COD ghosts (one version) will surpass eventually the ps4 version, now I'm not so sure anymore. PS4 is really on fire in USA, I can't imagine how things are in the rest of the world.

In Australia it's pretty much 10-1 in pre-orders in Sony's favour.

I was speaking to the games manager at one of Australia's biggest electronics retailers and he said it was pretty much the same everywhere. They've had to stop taking pre-orders for the PS4 and they've had very little interest in the XB1.

X & Y is starting to lag behind

well there is like 100million less 3ds' out in the wild right now compared to the DS when BW launched. im sure thats not helping. we also are yet to have limited edition 3ds announced.
