I hope this sells very well! Looks like an incredible game can't wait to get my hands on it. Always been a huge fan of the inFamous game, I platinumed inFamous 2 (My first plat) and have something like 95% done for inFamous 1 trophy's.

When I'm listening to hardcore Xbox and Nintendo fans marvel at what little has been shown, you know that the game is worth pushing onto the stage. Between this and the response thus far to Killzone: Shadow Fall, I think that this launch window is going to be the breakout moment for both Guerrilla and Sucker Punch. Their games are awesome but they always managed to find themselves at a point in time where they were overshadowed by other releases and would have done much better if they were released earlier. Now they're among the first out of the gate. Obviously we can never know for sure but I think there is a strong chance that once the dust settles people will be talking about both of those studios the same way they talk about Media Molecule and Naughty Dog. |
Definitely. Media Molecule needs to pick up the pace though. Little Big Planet 3 needs to launch eventually and it really needs to catch peoples eye this time. One thing InFamous and Killzone have always needed has been a proper launch time with less competition and more airtime to show what they've got to offer. Killzone needs up the multiplayer big time, but the storyline looks awesome, so I wont even talk about that. InFamous is just fine and can only get better from here....Sony just needs to market it like theres no tomorrow.
Hope Sucker Punch studio becomes big enough to have a two team structure like a lot of other sony devs.
Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

Don't forget Eric Boltjes is back at Guerilla Games and he is the lead for the multiplayer! If you don't know who he is, he was the lead multiplayer designer for Killzone 2 multi player. He left after Killzone 2 and didn't work on the Killzone 3 multi player, which is why many people believe KZ 2> KZ3 when it comes to multi player. But he is back at Guerilla and is the lead multiplayer designer for KZ Shadow Fall! Wooo!!
See where it says "designers" at the right side under the box art - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killzone:_Shadow_Fall#cite_note-2

Lets see if they can make InFamous a huge hit this gen. If they can Sony will more than likely increase the work force and fund a new IP.

Sounds good, but how is that going to help the multiplayer become world class? Naughty Dog got down the Last of Us multiplayer. All that left now is to build upon it. Killzone is a similar story, but they need to truly get the best in the inudstry outside of this guy to help.

Well, Media Molecule has the excuse that they are a small studio. Everything that I've seen says that they're not making LittleBigPlanet 3. It's being made by a private studio that Sony contracted out to make it while Meda Molecule works on their new IP for the PS4 as well as Tearaway for the Vita, which is launching this year. I doubt we'll see Media Molecule's new console game before 2015.
As far as Killzone's multiplayer, I agree. No FPS can really get away without having a solid multiplayer component these days. Killzone 2's was good enough for 2009. The class balance was good and the progression was nice. The maps were pretty good but in my opinion they could have done a lot more with game modes and there was something that just felt missing about it all, even when compared to Killzone 3, which wasn't as good. Considering that FPS multiplayer now has several well established standards, I don't think it will be very hard for Guerrilla Games to see where they need to improve and what they had that was working before.

Am I missing something? This game hardly looks next-gen to me in terms of gameplay. In fact, if you'd tell me this was a PS3 game I'd believe you for a moment. I wanna say that the graphics aren't really that impressive, but I think it more has to do with the animation. I think animation is gonna need to improve alot with this upcoming generation.
I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!
Im gunna say it straight, I wasnt very interested in this game 5 mins ago......Now I am :) thank you.

I think the main thingis the fluidity of the smoke effects and extent of the particle effects that to me says "not possible on current gen machines". I wonder what people mean by next gen gameplay. I'm not sure we're looking at any sort of gameplay revolution going into the next generation, the way things look to me is mostly moreof the same, but better, more refined, smoother, sleeker.
