Pikachu, but Mario aint too far behind.

if tetris blocks count as characters then that would be it. Mario and pacman are not as popular in other countrys and tetris is on every platform known to man.

This is my opinion:

1980's: Pac-Man & Mario.

1990's - Mario & Sonic

2000's - Mario & Pikachu

Early 2010's - Mario & Angry Birds?

I don't care for Angry Birds, but I have to admit. They EXPLODED with popularity from 2009 to 2012.



I always think of the Video Game characters like Cartoon Characters.

First, there was Felix the Cat who was popular for a few years (Just Like Pac-Man)

Then came Mickey Mouse, which everyone knows (Mario)

Then, Bugs Bunny came and made Mickey Mouse look "not cool" (Sonic)

But Bugs Bunny had a decline for many years (Similar to Sonic from to late 90's to the early 2000's)

Mickey Mouse is still very popular today (Just like Mario)

Felix the Cat & Bugs Bunny have had many movies and TV shows to try to revive them. (Similar to the Pac-Man World series and the new Pac-Man cartoon, and the Sonic Cartoon, Comic, and newer games)

That cartoon opinion thing probally did not make sence. :P

Overall, Mario is the champion in my opinion.

What's a Mario? Seriously.

Mario, and it is not even close. He is the icon of the game industry.

EASILY....Mario.....I mean that can't really be argued.....can it?

Pikachu....Mario is HUGE and really well-known, but Pikachu managed to transcend video games entirely and is the mascot and face of an entire empire of games, cards, TV shows, movies, toys, etc.

For all those saying it cant be argued, allow me.

Pac-man is in the record books as the most recognizable character in video games.

There that was easy.

So I will say it is easily Pac-man, without a shadow of a doubt.

^ Tetris did too and its not even on the list..
