How hard is it for 3rd parties to make the Wii U version of their game the same as the other consoles? It's not hard really.

They seem to labor under the delusion that Nintendo gamers are somehow happy to be treated like crap.

It's like a vicious cycle.

1. Release Crappy/ half arsed game missing features

2. Nintendo gamers ignore it and multi-console gamers buy it on a different platform

3. developers complain that it don't sell and don't support Nintendo again in most cases, despite it being their own fault that the game flopped

And so on. It's a shame really.

Yep, like clockwork.

Nintendo owners will buy third party games if they percieve them as high quality and if they're not too niche to be a big hit anyway. We will see third party successes on Wii U, but they sure as hell won't be gimped ports.

There is one surefire way to fix this problem. It's called Moneyhatting and Nintendo should swallow their pride and do it. I know it would open the floodgates for other third parties to 'expect' moneyhats for their games, but exclusive content on a big third party franchise coupled with advertising of such facts would no doubt stimulate interest in the franchise on Nintendo's console. Once third parties see that those efforts are making money, they'll see a Wii U release as a higher priority and moneyhats will no longer be necessary.

I'm not sure what Nintendo's thinking is with regards to this, but it seems that they're not willing to throw the same amounts of money behind games as other publishers. Is that smart? Yes. It's sustainable, but having those games made by teams of 100's and 1000's of developers is important, as it shows what your console can really do. I know I'm ranting now, but I really feel that a couple of strategic moneyhats (Ubisoft, Activision, Take-Two or EA) would go a long way to recovering from their current position.

Obviously with this being Ubisoft, they should have delayed the other versions until the Wii U version was ready.

Is CoD: Ghosts fully featured? I suppose that'll be the game to test the theory this year, if so.

it is kind of messed up that they charge the same price, but whatcha gonna do

anyone wonder why they cant do it.

it would require lotsa moneyz to adapt splitscreen multiplayer to a second screen or to allow separate screens. As much as it pains me to say it, the exclusivity of a touchscreen feature appears to be hindering 3rd party support.

didnt i tell you just as much would happen not but 48 hours ago? I know its an expensive endeavor but IMHO this is another Ninty console that seems a little half baked. Hearts in the right place its just dont all wrong.

why no option for "bloodyrain should stop bringing bad news to Wii U owners he's enjoying it waay too much!"

you know whats funny, i thought of you  when I saw the thread. Didnt we talk about how they would either devs would have to gimp the MP (espcially local) if they wanted to really utilize the pad? Or they would not utilize the pad in order for the MP not to be and imbalanced mess?

yulp! I will not underestimate your good judgement next time. If ubisoft had done blacklist's MP like activision's black ops 2 MP It'd been fine imo. That's not too much to ask is it?

just used a little bit of common sense, if people arent using the same controller all around someone most likely will have the upper hand. How is COD multi? Does the person with the pad have their own screen on it, and everyone else looks at the TV and he can see where people are and no one knows where he is? Cause thats unfair OR is the gamepad just a regular controller and provides no benefits thats better.

They could have done the latter but i imagine they would have to remove alot of whatever unique features they would have done for the Pad, then people would have complained that Ubi was lazy for not utilizing the pad. They could have just have people use the regular controllers, but that takes time having to code for the pad, wiimote and/or controller, maybe thats what they tried to do but ran out of time. If they would have done that, they would have complained aobut getting it late. And how much people even bought two of those xbox controllers? Doubt the game would work well with wiimote.

Ninty really should have at least had two pads running on the system. If it cost that much then they should not have released the system. Wait a year and just released with the other two.

its pretty hard when the other consoles arent using a gamepad as their standard controller, especially when said controller is only used on ONE console at a time. Im sure its harder than you think.

From the launch titles we learnt that duplicating the screen on the Gamepad takes 10 lines of code. Changing the splitcreen to full screen on both the TV and Gamepad would require; what, 2-3 days? Porting the mode itself could be the time consuming part, but they've already done that for the main game.

Don't really care. The game was never on my radar, and neither are any of Ubisoft's future titles. The only current third party game that could be interesting for me is Sonic, and I didn't even enjoy playing its predecessor on the Wii.

PS: BB is awesome :)

The main game only has one controller being used. what is the 2nd player going to use? not the gamepad cause he/she cant so that requires more coding for the game to be able to use controllers just for ONE mode. They probably didnt have time to use it. Ubi are not the villians in this case.

It's a hard question to answer, mainly because I would bet most gamers don't even know it's available on Wii U, even perhaps a majority of Wii U owners.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Online mode works. What's the problem?
