Forums - Nintendo - The "Wii U Haz No Games" Label Gone In A Month?

I think it will be gone early next year when Mario Kart 8 comes out.

No, this realisation won't come before the X1 and PS4 launch. Right now there are still way too many people who imagine that the other eighth gen consoles will have amazing lineups.

I can't speak for PS4, but Xbox One has a considerably better line up than WiiU has had in its first 12 months.

I tend to agree, though I think Earthbound on the Wii U is a little bit of an exception as it's an extremely rare title and there's probably even a lot of Nintendo fans who have never played it.

This isn't really true.  Earthbound isn't extremely rare.  It's expensive because people are willing to pay the ridiculous asking price, but not extremely rare.  Other than "any game not in print" it's not even rare, because  I'd have more choices on who to purchase Earthbound from on Ebay any day of the week than most sought after games.  It's not even uncommon.

If you were to go on Ebay and compare the amount of available copies for purchase of games such as Vanguard Bandits, Breath of Fire 4, Threads of Fate, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4, etc, those games have less availability to purchase than Earthbound, so would you consider those "rare."  Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4 is only one page and it's the SNES, PSX, and Sega Saturn versions combined.  Earthbound has 10 pages, three of which is the game for SNES.  I have Ebay at 50 listings per page as well.

Now forget the above paragraphs because I'm only trying to point out that these games are all common and easy to purchase if one wants them, and the fact that Earthbound is more common, albeit more expensive, then every game should count for the console right?  No, and that's the point I'm getting at.

Well, Wii U has Pikmin. That should shut them up, right?

Right?! >_>

Bingo. All signs show lineups only slightly more robust than what PS3 and 360 themselves had in their early months. The rest are games that are a long, long way off...

I do not believe that any Microsoft or Sony gamer would ever listen to this.

I cannot even believe it. They will have a much better launch line up. Three original games is not that hard to beat. The rest were ports for the Wii U. Some were really old ports.

Dont PS4 and One only have about 3 original games at launch as well? The rest are games on up to 6 seperate platforms.

unfortunately i read the list like this:
New Super Mario Bros+dlc, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Zombi U, Scribblenauts U, Rayman Legends,, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed 3,

Those are (to me) titles worth mentioning, but even a few of those i just don't care about and i started assassin's creed on the ps3, you'd have to do something like make the next one exclusive to get me to switch (well played bayonetta)
You know what i would've wanted from the launch of a new system? New ip's to launch said system. Wii-u got zombi-u and nintendo land. That's all i can think of. Ps4 and xb1 got a crap ton of new ip's and high profile games for their launch. To even try to compete would have been nice from nintendo. They just played it too safe. That said i'll still end up buying a wii-u eventually. Just probably not this year.

I don't know what is more disappointing people waiting for mario, mario and more mario or the lack of 3rd party games that we are getting and shuld be buying that arn't even talked about my most Nintendo fans, like your Watch Dogs, AC IV, Rayman, Splinter Cell etc.. .

they're not talking about it cause A they wont buy it or B it will be bought on a system other than Wii.

But are those 6-12 multiplate games going to be old ports, or are they mostly new games? That would make the difference.

Yes they are new but its the same thing. People didnt care about those games on Wii U because they already had a console that supported those titles, its the same thing with PS4/One, a vast majority will be content to play those games on PS3/360/PC.

Nonsense. According to people, even when Wii U releases games it will always have no games.
