Good riddance, I say. The game had too many traits of Squaresoft RPGs. Minigames that sucked hard and points of no return.

Points of no return? Enlighten me.

At some point in the final castle you won't be able to get out anymore. Yes, I should have used singular.

False... my original game save file is still at the very last save point in Smithy's factory before you fight him, and you are still able to backtrack through the factory and exit out to the main map, and then you're free to go visit just about every area you've previously been to and level up and search for hidden boxes and other items you may have missed the first time around.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Super Mario RPG > PM:TTYD > PM64 > all other Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi games.

I never understood why people want a sequel to this game. I think Paper Mario is so much better.

Because people want to play sequels to great games?

The original title for Paper Mario was Super Mario RPG 2.

You have to deal with the new replacing the old. It's the Nintendo way. Galaxy replaces open world. Other M replaces Prime. Broken up into levels Paper Mario replaces continuous world Paper Mario.

I don't think Other M replaced Prime, we will probably see Prime 4 and never see Other M 2.

Sakamoto still has control of the Metroid series and he denies Prime even existed.

I prefer Thousand Year Door to this game. That's my favourite Paper Mario by far. Super Paper Mario was a dumbed down piece of rubbish though, I hope we never see another like it.

the M&L series and the first two Paper Mario´s are far superior, the rendered graphics haven´t aged as well as pixel art
..still a good game though...

Eh, it isn't like we are hurting for RPGs featuring Mario, not to mention current Square isn't what it used to be when the original Super Mario RPG was made. So the only way I would be really intrigued would be if it was a Chrono Trigger like collaboration, with developers from the Alpha Dream (Mario & Luigi games), teaming up with some of the team that worked on Square Enix's The World Ends with You and maybe some talent from Level 5.

But from my understanding a lot of the staff that worked on Super Mario RPG have worked on the Mario & Luigi games so really aside from not having Geno or a few of the characters that debuted in that game, there is no need to go back and try to make a sequel.

You forgot to add in the "removing experience points and all side-quest content" part.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Yes, it was far worse than just that.

But you're comparing a snes game to a n64 game.  I think the graphics have aged surprisingly well, I just played it about a week ago, and while it could use some touchups, its amazing for a snes game.  I think it would be amazing to update it with Super Mario Galaxy graphics.

I point you to Yoshi's Island for "amazing for a SNES game".
