Forums - Nintendo - Congratulations. You're in charge of Nintendo. Now what?

I'm sorry, I don't usually put emoticons in my posts. Makes it fun to wonder if I'm being serious, see.

He's the the main cause (mostly) that Nintnedo is in this mess IMO. After they finished developing the N64, any developer that didn't agree with him were told to basicly fuck off (hence how the playstation was born). Thats why/where/when they started to drop support for Nintendo and started losing sales and their recognition because the aging man was still president.

If his develoepement team were told to develope a better N64 (perhaps cartridge-less) then maybe the company wouldn't have suffered, He should've stepped down a generation earlier, and MAYBE...just maybe Nintendo wouldn't be the way they are now.

Sony were planning the Playstation long before the N64 was announced. They wanted strong software to push their own hardware, and owning the rights to all Nintendo's CD-based SNES titles was how they hoped to do it. People too often forget that BOTH sides of the partnership were being devious cunts.

You can't simplify history by blaming it all on one event, person, or decision.

Nintendo should just look to the future, & start to create that "3rd pillar". I think Ninty will be first out of the gate in terms of ditching the traditional tethered home console. They started with Wii U not necessarily dependent on the TV, I believe next will be a truly mobile/flexible solution.

Maybe call it the "N7", something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3KCTOkHVhA

yep, I'd buy that.

Dude. I daydream about this pretty much every day. I could probably go on about this for an hour, but I guess I'll just try to hit some key points.

Make an account-based system for digital games. TOP PRIORITY. Digital sales will increase dramatically, and so will profits.

Work on training up new senior talent, then buy/hire more devs and spread them out. Games need to come faster and more frequently. Not so much that the quality of the games dips, but more so that niggling little problems or even obvious ones (HD is harder to do, derrr!) don't end up delaying a game for years.

Every popular Nintendo IP needs to have a title in development at all times. Most of them MUST have at least one title per console per generation, the more popular ones (Mario, Zelda) at least two.

One or two small dev groups will be dedicated to experimenting with new game design and exploring new potential IP's. Every fiscal quarter they present their best ideas to the senior staff for consideration.

Shigeru Miyamoto now has nothing to do with the actual running of the company, and focuses purely on making games and coming up with new ideas. (Not sure if this is already true or not.) Also, any "suggestions" he has for games must be approved by ME. (You saved Metroid Prime, Mr. Miyamoto, but you destroyed Paper Mario.)

Gamecube games on the VC. NOW. Also begin the development of Metroid Prime Trilogy HD and Super Mario Sunshine HD, for starters.

VC games pricing is now as follows:
NES: $2
SNES: $5
N64: $7
GCN: $10

HD editions of games will vary in price depending on the added features/content. Simple upscales will be $20 for GCN games and $15 for N64 games, all sold only digitally. Buyers of non-HD games will be able to upgrade for the difference between the two prices. Larger collections (like Metroid Prime Trilogy HD) will hit retail, but never for more than $40.

I could honestly keep going. It's something I think about an embarrassing amount. But I think I should probably stop now. XD

What I meant what you bolded was aimed at the Mr. Yamauhci alienating thrid party that led to some comapnies stop supporting them (not the PS). The second statement bolded was about the contract (guess I merged the two together...my mistake). Yeah both sides were at fault..That I did should've mentioned.

Yeah the cd tech was in the works during the early 80s and Ninty worked with them until he canceld the project before things werer set. But what I was simply trying to say is that he was a jerk/uptight. He fired people here and there and he even terminated family members. But if he would have worked with others much better then he woud'nt have pissed of a lot of people and vice versa. I know others were at fault but because was the president, he made the decisions along with the board of directors of course. It's just my opinion anyway so I'm not trying to start something here.

I would make a home console Pokemon game with a big world to explore and full of cities, with Ash Ketchum as the protagonist and it would have a good story (like the stories of some of the pokemon movies), obviously it would include the 6th gen pokemon. An online mode is a given, of course. The name of the game would be Pokemon Adventure (only for WiiU). Then I'd cut the price of the console.

And I'd hire Katy Perry to make commercials for the T.V

Then I'd moneyhat Square-Enix to get Kingdom Hearts III with additional content, after all that the console would be perfect for me selling a millions of units.

Katy Perry would be a good choice for TV commercials.

Now we're talk'n! ;)

I would buy Atlus and cancel all non Nintendo platform development or port them to Nintendo platforms if they are Atlus IPs and there is no collaboration with other companies as well as buy Sonic and Shanmue (SP?) and hire the right people to make them and put some of my employes to make sure they are of high quality.

I would keep the release scheduled as it is right now as there is no point in rushing the games out and risk bad quality. I will make sure the new IP my Myamoto is working on has the right amount of people it needs to be released in 2014. I would put more people on Wii Sports U and make sure that it is done as soon as possible. I will add a Wii mote and nunchuck to the already existing gamepad in the WiiU package instead of lowering the price and totally remove the SKUs that only has the gamepad in the box.

I would give WW HD as a free game to anyone who purchases Pikmin 3 or the wonderful 101
I would put people on ED2 and add a HD version of the old game when the game is released. more advertisement in the form of contests in kids stuff, food or buy a TV and get it for half price or something :P
