A little more disappointed then bored. Right now Nintendo is doing some things very right, and some very wrong.

Metroid, Zelda, and 3D Mario have all been screwed over recently (other M, Skyward Sword, SM3DW/L) and those are my three favorite ninty franchises. On the other hand: I discovered Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing for the first time, and I'm loving them to death. Pikmin is finally getting another installment, and the 3DS is set to have a monster holiday. So in short, I think Nintendo has screwed up it's major franchises, but the more niche franchises are better then ever.

Not bored, just letdown.

I became bored of platformers years ago, which, obviously, is kind of where Nintendo lives. I also became bored with flat, shallow, caricature-type characters and games with static settings and storylines. I think my discovery of RPGs is mostly responsible for that.

However, a lot of Nintendo's newer IPs have my attention, particularly with the 3DS. It's mostly the old, stand-by stuff that I couldn't care less about (other than Zelda and perhaps Metroid).

But, yeah, as a company they're exceedingly boring. I swear to god, some of the Nintendo Direct things could have been produced in the 1980s.

Pretty much my whole fusteration with Nintendo, I feel they never evolve their IPs, they feel more like object. This is why I enjoy Luigi Mansion Dark Moon, Mario and Luigi, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Super Mario Striker, Paper Mario, Kid Icarus Rising more then the games created by Nintendo main dev team. I love the gameplay but also want to learn more about the characters, see them react to their surrounding

I think you accidentally added something that doesn't belong.

edit:

I meant platformers in general compare to Nintendo main dev group, though there are times I wish Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank were Nintendo IPs, but that's just me.

Honestly, it was the grammar that threw me off here.  Normally my brain autocorrects the "then" and "than" mistakes people make, but not this time.  My bad.

NO

Same exact games and IP's for the past 40 years, with all that excitement I don't see how a person could possibly be bored ._.

Surely you jest as no one believes that.

I don't play many of their franchises so I'm not really bored of the ones I do play. They are far between.

Pretty much. But more so the word for me is disappointed. Disappointed in the direction they decided to go post Wii. I've never seen a company make such a U-turn from one gen to another. Maybe that's what the U in Wii U stands for. Ditching the Wii Mote in favor of a bulky Gamepad is baffling to me and unappealing as a previous Wii owner.

Yeah this sums it up for me.  Games like Wii Sports, Wii Fit and the great use of motion in games like Mario Kart and Punch Out! is what made me love Nintendo.  I do love Smash Bros and 2D Mario but not enough to buy a system for those and WiiU's version barely look any different than what I own on Wii.
