Nope. Im quite a social person. I know almost everyone at my college. Its good to know theres someone to play with on multiplayer the second you play online. Sometimes I want to play alone and I just put my notification up blocking my friends if I dont want to be seen. Its a normal part of life. The first hundred friends next gen will probably be from my dorms with more added. Theres friends from home and from school and then theres chatting  friends (including VG Chartz friends) and outsiders. 

Where the hell did you get that from my post?   I just said that with that many people in a game,  and with constantly joining different servers you could easily rack up quite a few friends in a couple months time.  From COD4 where it was only 16 total players I probably got 40 or 50 friend invites from that.  No where did I say we were all going to play together all the time.   

Plus its not unreasonable to think that the majority of those players are going to be playing at the same time i would on a regular basis anyway,  considering most people have a schedule, and play video games during the same times of the day, after work/school etc.  So the chances are pretty high that a good majority of use are online at the same time.   

i only have 65 friends on PSN and i actively talk to a lot of them and even have a bunch of close ones.. but i can never have too many since i mostly play single player games only and i just have them to see what they're playing or to have short conversations with some of them thats all.

It's nice to have the option, even if I wont ever get close to a quarter of that.

But since when? IIRC it was the last fimware-update that enabled ps3-users to disable trophy-notifications, didn't it?
