I'm not interested in handhelds, I have no need for one.
I play games at home. When I'm elsewhere I do other things.

Problem comes from the fact that handhelds do have exclusives, and you can play handhelds at home too.
Justsaying

@MSMAlliance: This is also not true, the below are some of the unique gaming experiences that can only be had on the vita

Killzone Mercenary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWJjATF497g&hd=1

Little Big Planet PS Vita: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKuVLcplLyQ&hd=1  (IGN: "Best Little Big Planet ever")

Gravity Rush: great title with wondeful music and mysterious story

Uncharted Golden Abyss

Lumines Electronic Symphony

Super Stardust vita

Wipeout 2048

Soul Sacrifice

Personna 4 Golden

Mutant Blobs Attack

Unit 13

@Curl6 - I play my Vita in coffee shops, on public transport, in the car, and browse the web and post on the web while the wife is shopping. You should try portable gaming on Vita..  and watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGNxHa0bqCI&hd=1

#1 You spelled my username incorrectly
#2 I don't see how what I said is wrong.  I said that handhelds DO have exclusives, and you list (some) exclusives for the Vita.  Although you did list Persona 4 Golden which is a port.

soo... I don't know what you're trying to say

The same reason why people are hating on the Wii-U because they just want to and because both arent selling as well as they should be.

Plain and simple~

Alright, what makes you think it should be selling better?

The WiiU's issue is its software library - people are just not interested in what is currently being dished out. Third party support can easily be trounced due to the fact its competitors have been out in the market and the userbases on those systems usually go for games on those particular systems along with the fact there have been more discounts/sales on the competitor systems along with the fact some of the ports on the WiiU brag about the fact that you can use the gamepad but the consumers dont have any interest in the gamepad itself.

They are more interested in getting the actual games but its kind hard when you have multiplat titles that sell better on competitor systems along with the fact that some of the ports are gimped like Mass Effect 3 being sold for $59.99 along the same time as Mass Effect Trilogy which again was the same price.
Which would you buy? Mass Effect 3 on WiiU for $59.99 or the entire Trilogy on PC/Xbox360/PS3 for the same price?

The interest isnt there, yes the first party titles from Nintendo will help but the fact that there hasnt been any notable releases as of yet except for say Pikmin 3 (in Japan) - the sales wont be as much as say the 3DS or the PS3 which keeps on getting content which are usually exclusive or third party multiplats (which again is due to the fact of its userbase).

As for the Vita, a lot of the games are enhanced ports/remakes which imo arent as bad as gimped ports that the WiiU is getting but the demand isnt there because people want exclusives and AAA titlesAlong with the fact when you sell your biggest memory card for $99.99 - it turns off a lot of people (including me which is the main reason why I dont have one yet) - they'll be like why should I buy a game system that will have its biggest memory card for half of the price of its competitor. Yes you can get smaller memory cards and deal with that, but people look at the smallest things - it is what makes us consumers.

Edit: Also doesnt help that one region already has a price cut - some people do research and when they find out in their region the games sell for higher prices - they'll just wait for a price drop and/or sale.

---

Note I am getting both systems eventually in the future as there are games on both systems that have come out and will be coming out that I am interested in.

I dont care about only AAA titles - I play anything and everything from AAA titles, niche titles, and indie titles.

Everything you have listed is a negative point. How does that demonstrate why they should be selling better? Surely you have just explained why they deserve to sell badly?

NNID: Oscar89

I guess some people do it because they can. They wouldn't hate on it, if they had a go on Vita i'm sure.

The second half is the Vita.

Oh wow i suddenly realised your username mdmalliance. Nice.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

Because it's sales are not matching expectations, making it an easy target. Same with the Wii U really, but the PS4 / Xbox One still haven't released yet.

I guess another problem is Nintendo fans not realising that other people's taste in games may not align with theirs.

Other than that, the system has some glaring problems like memory card prices, a lack of popular franchises and a bumpy road ahead.

Is this a troll thread? Because that picture of the 3DS games stacked up against the PSVita games is just mean.

Because Sony should step up and make some games of their own. Sometimes I even wonder how PSP did as good as it did. Without the Piracy, I wonder how it would have ended up.

Too much assumption.

Most people don´t hate Vita
(actually, people hate Sony fanboys that don´t admit it´s not doing well on the market and its situation needs some addressing)

It´s just that Vita is more expensive than the 3DS - way more, in the West, I´d say - and the average video game consumer perception has changed. People are not willing to spent big money on consoles anymore, unless they´re die-hard fans of a specific brand.

Vita is a great device with great games, but it really needs a price cut and a few more quality games to get the attention of more consumers besides Sony fans. That´s all.
