Agreed; it's the art that makes the game really shine; the creative creature designs, the vibrant colours, the use of scale to show familiar objects and settings in an unfamiliar way, like fighting a slug fifty times your size in a sand pit, which turns out to be only a small hole in the sand of a tropical beach, with massive palm trees looming overhead and sparkling waves crashing in the background.

And the thing is, all of this has been present since the first entry into the Pikmin series. Which is kinda interesting.

What impress me the most in this game is the fruit design. They look so real... Look at that dragon fruit those Pikmins are carrying around... I swear it's as real as a pitaya goes.

I came here to talk shit about Nintendo, but damn. I thought The Last of Us was the best looking console game this year. This shit looks next-gen. o.0

Trying so hard not to look at these. Just a few more days!

Dude, just think about what Nintendo's going to be able to do with the system later in its life. Pikmin 4 could be mind-blowing.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

The game really is beautiful. And not purely because of it's graphical technicality. But, because of it's overall scope, environment, colors, and creativity. There is so much effort put into the Pikmin games, and it really shows.

There were sparkling waves?  I was too busy trying to ensure I didn't lose any Pikmin, alas two brave souls did fall close to the end when the entire pit opened up and tried to swallow us.

Yeah, in one direction is the tropical forest, in the other is the ocean with small waves breaking in the sun.
