Forums - Gaming - why apple should enter the gaming industry with a console

But then they would sue the existing 3 for copying what Apple copied off them.

Apple would lose so much money they don't really have. They have no IP, no third party, no background, no name(in gaming, zynga can suck it), Market is saturated, red ocean, no identity, and most of all, not in their DNA.

Maybe if Steve Jobs were alive, and still it would be farfetched.

Steve Jobs was starting to get a little more serious with games on the MAC, but those ambitions got nipped in the bud when MS grabbed their flagship game/developer.

Bungie had previously developed the Marathon Trilogy exclusively on the MAC OS, which many regard as the spiritual predecessor of Halo.

Apparently Jobs was pretty pissed about the whole situation:

"“As soon as we announced we bought Bungie, Steve Jobs called,”said  former Microsoft VP of game publishing Ed Fries

“He was mad at [Microsoft CEO Steve] Ballmer and phoned him up and was angry because we’d just bought the premier Mac game developer and made them an Xbox developer.”

...I got an email from Steve Ballmer asking me to phone Steve Jobs and calm him down about the whole thing, Fries continues." - Develop

Honestly I hate Apple but I actually wouldn't mind seeing someone new enter the console market.

We already did just recently with Ouya.

Someone who can actually compete with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.

People said the same of MS before they entered. It might not be setting the world on fire but in time they may become a serious competitor

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing the next evolution of their controller.

you know you want it!

They should just release an official game controller for like $39.99 and run with it.

They don't need a game console, they already have hardware that can run the games in the iPhone/iPad/Apple TV/Mac.

Just need to be able to send that signal to the television (the opposite of the Wii U basically).

All it takes is to create an iOS or other platforms forum on here to make it so.  As of now, I am not sure how much longer I will bother with VGChartz, because outside of the 3DS, I really own nothing recent that gives me reason to be on here.
