Forums - Sony - The Last of Us multiplayer is remarkably fun.

I am playing  vs martch with two teams of four. Its basically two sects of survivors attacking one another. It makes me think more than Gears or even Uncharted because its at a slower pace with limited bullets and a lot of strategy to get your wins. People will surprise you out of nowhere and you don't know where they are if they crouch, so stealth is very potent. Very balanced game indeed.

i disagree i find it remarkably slow and boring

and the mechanics in general promote hiding in a corner and camping like a bitch which i generally hate in multiplayer

WTF? I haven't played one match with campers yet. Yes, there are certain areas of the map which promote teams stay close and take out the enemies but campers will always be campers. I don't find it slow at all, you can run if you want, but you'll get spotted easily.

lol every match i've played has campers...

at its core thats what the game is about it punishes movement and rewards staying put or moving slowly

i suppose though its just too rapid a departure from the types of game's i play regularly online for me personally

It doesn't punish movement. It is the opposite of what most are used to in Gears or Uncharted. Run infront of a crowd and you're dead. This game is about stalking and killing and sometimes even ganging up on people. If you run and gun everyone knows where you are. If you're the last member of a team after sudden death, you need to hide so you dont lose the match. While doing that, you need to quickly but silently pick off members of the opposite teams by creating bombs and taking out groups of them. You take your the supplies from your kills and level up getting money and buying perks and weapons in-game. You can also heal yourself in match by stocking up on med packs. The ground kills are brutal and ive been waiting for Naughty Dog to capitalize on it because they went soft on Uncharted 3 melee kills. If everything is about running and gunning, please...Call of Duty is right there waiting. This games charm is about survival in single player and we're lucky they nailed carrying it over into multiplayer.

I tried but didn't get into it... Then again I never found a multiplayer game that got me addicted. Except the Uncharted 3 one, I really put a lot of hours on that one xD

Yes it is awesome and different than the majority: sprint, jump, hit the trigger.

I've recently finished the 12 weeks of Hunters and now am taking a break.

But one thing it desperately needs are new modes and some maps.
Cause the hell how many times can you play 4vs4 team deathmatch on two slightly different modes. A horde mode seems natural. Maybe 3 teams on a bigger map for one objective, or big supplies in the center of the map that you would have to bring to your base, so basically a capture the flag mode.
Anyway it needs variety and those DLC announcements can't come soon enough.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Horde mode in this game would put every other game to shame. I would be running 100% of the time screaming like a little girl while I shot the zombies in the face. They could have three different types of horde as well. It would be very different too. Fireflies (Heavy military weaponry and rank replenishment, complete with military vehicles), Infected (Clickers and runners chase you while the other big guy stalks you)  and the surviving scavengers who pretty much just spread out and attack.

Never tried it yet, wanted to get the story out of the way. I don't know if i even want to play multiplayer after how good the story was, i'm not a big multiplayer guy anyway.

Its the same thing as the story, you just have to do it against humans. Its not like Uncharted where they changed up the controls a bit, this game keeps the controls and it also has melee finishers like Gears of War. It also keeps your noise detection limited, so you can only catch people if they are running, because they are making noise.
