Something I forgot to add was that the biggest indicator that this is fake is saying that it looks like the tech demo. I think Anouma said that the game will look closer to Skyward Sword.

aonuma said it would be different from the tech demo but he didn't say a thing about being closer to skyward sword (although some great cell shading + SS style would be AMAZING).

Actually, Aonuma said at E3 2013 that the game would not be "ultra-realistic" or "cartoony-realistic". Therefore, it will not be like SS or realistic like games such as Assassin's Creed. I expect it to look quite similar to TP, but more colorful.

Here's the source of the info: http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/51242/we-dont-want-zelda-wii-u-to-be-ultra-realistic-aonuma/

Taken from GameFAQs.

New rumor for Zelda Wii U. It leaked onto 2ch. Thread has since been deleted. Thankfully, I had the entire thing Copy & Pasted into Google Translate. When I went to refresh the 2ch page to read some replies, the thread was gone. The thread didn't even last an hour before vanishing. I think the 2ch community assume it's BS. That, or there may be some truth to it...

Anyway, here's the post. I've edited the punctuation and grammar of Google Translation for better clarity.

----------

Zelda Wii U planned to be announced at E3 2014.

Information has surfaced that Zelda Wii U will be announced at E3 2014. A variety of points about the game has leaked from NDA interviews between Aonuma and various Japanese game magazines that enquired about it at E3.

> The game is using the E3 2011 Tech Demo graphics. The Tech Demo was actually footage from a pre-Alpha version.

> The game is a direct sequel to Twilight Princess.

> The game will be Open World. The player will be able to explore a vast and seamless Hyrule. Around 70% of the development team are solely working on content to fill this Open World. The aim is to make it full of content and have more side-quests, sub-dungeons, and collectibles than any past 3D Zelda.

> Motion controls have been dropped. The game will use the Wii U Game Pad and build off the controls of the GameCube version of Twilight Princess. There will be heavy use of the Game Pad screen in a variety of unique ways.

> There are 10 dungeons. You can play the first five in any order, and when all are complete, you can play the later five in any order. The game now features a term Aonuma calls "Parallel Dungeons". You will have to multi-task between all 5 dungeons to complete them. Solving puzzles in one dungeon will open doors and change the layout of another. Aonuma states that playing through all 5 dungeons simultaneously will feel like one giant Water Temple (from Ocarina of Time).

> Princess Zelda will have a deep involvement in the story. Princess Zelda didn't get much development in Twilight Princess, but many fans have said they loved her detailed costume design. Aonuma wants to rectify this issue by making her character as complex as her elaborate clothes.

> The game began development in Q1 2010, almost two years before Skyward Sword was released. It was being made by a different team than the one that developed Skyward Sword. However, the staff of Skyward Sword have now joined the development head count on Zelda Wii U.

> The game will be the directorial debut of Satoru Takizawa. He previously served as Art Director of Twilight Princess. Aonuma personally feels that, due to Takizawa's experience being in charge of the visuals of Twilight Princess, he's the most qualified staff member to direct a realistic Zelda. Takizawa has worked on every 3D Zelda game since OoT. He designed Ganondorf and all the bosses in OoT, all the bosses in MM, Ganondorf and the Moblin in TWW, and didn't do much on SS as he was moved off the project midway to direct the next realistic Zelda.

> Online co-op that functions like a 3D version of Four Swords is being included as a separate multiplayer feature. The mode will have paid DLC content. This will be in the form of dungeons, powerful enemies, new items, and unique tunics.

> Regarding the scale of the Open World, Aonuma is aiming for it to be on par with Skyrim.

> All the NPCs will be voiced. They will speak in a fictional language that will represent Hylian.

> Aonuma states that the game will definitely be announced in 2014. E3 is the most likely venue, not a Nintendo Direct.

Ugh, hate the water temple. Rest sounds very exciting though.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

As big a Skyrim? This alone means it's fake. We all know the Wii U can't handle that.

they better have a confrence next year. I want a reaction as big as this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE2Dc1sx71U

If this is all true it will outsell Ocarina of Time. This is what I want. This is what Zelda fans want. (Not every Zelda fan, I know so don't quote me please)

Sounds just incredible and disappointing enough to be true.

In order of the rumors on the first post.

1. The Wii U actually had a Zelda Wii U tech demo. I hope it gets a slight graphic overlay because, while the lighting effects were incredible, the textures could use a bit more oomph, particularly on the character models.

2. Only good if the Hyrule Resistance plays a major part. I don't want Zelda to be the only returning NPC with a flushed out backstory. Also, I WANT MORE HORSEY BATTLES. Those were awesome in TP, particularly the first one, but there weren't that many of them. And yes, I'm more than a little childish on this one.

3. The best open world games either have a fast-travel or a very good map tool. Good thing Zelda has always had warping.

4. Good. SS was a great experiment, but grafting swordsmanship into motion controls is probably not the best idea.

5. BAD. I don't like dungeons, at least in the Zelda formula. They feel far too contrived. What stupid architect built this place? I want the dungeons to be ruins: feel like real temples and buildings with history, long past their prime, and to have puzzles which feel like they belong in that context. Unless there's a good story-reason why it's happening, adding in complexity of one dungeon's switches affecting another dungeon just doubles down on the stupid.

6. Good. I'd like to see her as Shiek or with a sword, but I'll let Nintendo figure out what they want to do.

7. -no comment-

8. A graphical artist is now the director. A graphical update (1) is reasonable to expect.

9. Sounds reasonable, but I won't hold my breath.

10. With that many hands working on this for several years, they could easily fill that much space in.

11. Midna worked well muttering gibberish. This is probably that again, but everybody doing it will take some getting used to.

12. Not too surprising, but so long as all the major pointers are covered by an N Direct, I'm cool.

Actually I'm fairly certain he has stated that they had not settled on an official look yet.
