PSP 3000!! I've had like every model, so just trust me. Don't go with the E1000 "expensive at this point and without any reason but being new" or 1000 model "crappy screen compared to others".

Well if you ever do plan on using CFW then everyone of them is good but you cant turn off some 2000s models and all 3000s models because it will reset you back to Sony's current firmware but its easily placed back on with a fast recovery but some people hate not being able to turn theirs off and using sleep mode all the time.
I have both all 3 models (no PSPGO) and i tend to play on my 3000 just because the screen colors and overall picture is better IMO

In just around 15 secs
PSP slim/ 2000. Much slimmer than the original and has better battery life but don't play outside otherwise you won't see the screen very much. I have a yellow one from when the Simpsons Game came out and it's worked flawlessly ever since. Shame about the E1000 having no wifi, that is just stupid.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Either 2000 or 3000. Do not get 1000, or PSPgo.
I haven't noticed much with a 3000. My 2000 broke, and I don't know if I've ever played a game on 3000. It doesn't matter with 3000 unless you plan to use the mic, and skype, otherwise, they do make mics for the PSP2000 so you can still skype on it.
The big thing with the 3000 was being able to play outside. Some people complain about screen tearing, but, you'd have to decide for yourself if that even bothers you, so get personal with a 3000 before buying and see if you can manage.
If you want to play it safe, the 2000 model is just fine. Just don't get 3000 or Go models.

It is and it isn't. It is because it has the best screen out of all, it's very ergonomic, and it has plenty of built-on memory. it isn't because the battery is built-in, and unless you manage your charge well, it doesn't last all that much. I got an extended life battery for my 3000 - I can run it for ~12 hours... 2nd brightness settings, headphones, games from memcard, power saving plugins. |
Well my PSP Go runs a good 6-8hrs just for games, and longer for videos and music, so I never really noticed any issues with the battery life.
Personally why I think it's the best console created (aside that my PSP Go's modded so I'm able to play PSP, PS1, SNES, NES, GB games) is the fact that it's a portable AND home console in one. I believe this should be the future of gaming but that would eliminate both markets (home and portable) into one market. I've been playing Kingdom Hearts BBS & Crisis Core on the go and when I get back home I put it on my charging dock that's hooked up to my TV and use my PS3 controller to continue playing it on the big screen. This eliminates the whole PS4/Vita crossplay.
If they can just create a more powerful handheld in the future that can handle multiple controller connectivity for local multiplayer and better online support. (not sure how well is the Vita's but if its similar to PS3 with friends list etc..) then that would be perfect, along with bigger storage/mem cards.
I have a 3000 one myself, so i could recommend that. But why do you need WiFi on PSP though? If that is not a problem, then you could go with the newest model, as missing WiFi must be helping the battery life.

So I can download things straight to the console. It isn't a massive problem, since I can just download them & then transfer, but it seems a bit redundant. Means I wouldn't be able to access the online features for things like LittleBigPlanet as well, which I own and probably will wish to play on PSP.
E1000 seems to have a load of other problems too though, non-replacable battery & mono speakers being the two main ones.
Thanks for the feedback on the 300 too :)

Sure man. If that is your standpoint, then the 3000 model is the best thing for you. IF you have more molah, you can get a Vita and have all the features of the PSP and have a next gen handheld alltogether.

Vita is the reason I'm getting a PSP! It made me fall in love with gaming on a handheld. But sadly, it doesn't play UMD's. Or Theme Hospital.
