Vita has no gaemZ!

Noone said it has no games. It's just it neither has enough high-quality exclusives, or any killer apps, for most people.

A good portion of that list are either niche PSN titles, multiplats which are better elsewhere, or games which just shouldn't be on there (Smart As? Really?)

Having said that, I personally have about 9 of those titles.

"Quality" is only what the consumer makes of it. In my opinion, there are many quality games on the Vita, even some that aren't in that list. But either due to laziness, ignorance or whatever, people just can't see it. Instead they just say "it has no games".

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I'm gonna have to start importing the US games since there's no EU release date for Muramasa and Ys.... =( i really want those, maybe they'll announce dates during gamescom.

Awesome list to show the haters. I love the Vita, it was more than worthwhile from what i have played already. The only annoying thing is that Vita gets very little shelf space in game shops so most of the games are pretty rare to come by brand new. i would go digital only if the games on PS store and memory cards weren't so expensive

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Perhaps you missed the part where I said "for most people", so I've highlighted it for you. You and I may think that there's a lot of good games on the system, because they cater to our tastes. And yet, the system isn't selling, despite the very fact that we know for a fact that software sells hardware. And why is that? Because it's the wrong software for the majority of people, and as such they aren't buying the system because there's no games that they wish to play. People want to play high-quality exclusives, so we can assume that for most people there isn't enough high-quality exclusives to warrant a purchase.

It's not lazines or ignorance for the mass market. It's laziness and ignorance on Sony's part, if anyone is to blame. They haven't thrown their weight behind the system, so why should anyone support it? People want what they had on their PSP. They want GTA. They want Gran Turismo. They want Final Fantasy. They want Monster Hunter. These are the "high quality exclusives" most people are waiting for, not Technika Tune, Lumines and Guacamelee.

I think this is my point.

Saying a system doesn't have anything

and

saying a system doesn't have anything I want

Are two different things. It's petty and pedantic to pick on I agree but it's what annoys me about conversations with critics. You mention PSP. The psp had the exact same problem, even with all the GTA and GT and all that crap, people still said it had no games. As this topic shows, Vita has something and if consumers aren't willing to try something new/niche instead of going for the same rinsed and repeated formula then how do you expect any of these to get into the limelight.

People will argue they want the CODs and so on on Vita but when they arrive, they will say "why do I want this? I can get it better elsewhere." When given something they can't get anywhere else, they say they want the CODs and so on and we are back to square one.

In my opinion, a new console should be about trying something you've never tried before or would not have tried under normal circumstances. Tangently; this is why I'm baffled by people who buy new and powerful machines just so they can replay their roms of SNES etc games.

It's the circular logic that I find baffling.

At least the ones who complain about memory cards have a stronger arguement in my opinion.

I think it's funny that Virtue's Last Reward is listed in both threads despite being a multiplatform game. :P

As mentioned in another thread, you buy a console for its entire library, not just the exclusives.

Can get majority of these games in some form on consoles which i already own.
No need for a Vita

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

This really became an indie fest eh? :p

I'm surprised you were allowed to put all of those pictures in the OP.

But there's no point telling us. Tell the mass market. Why should they spend upwards of £250 to get a Vita and a game, when a good number of said games are multiplatforms, or niche titles, or didn't perform well critically, when they could get the much cheaper 3DS with an equally as broad library, but with a greater depth and market penetration?

Yeah, it really doesn't sound as promising when you say it like that. Until Sony shows the Vita some love, which right now is highly unlikely, tells the masses why they should buy their system, and actually get some killer apps on the system, nothing will change. Which, whilst it's a shame, is no one's fault but Sony's.

Why aren't you this critical of the Wii U?
