Forums - Gaming - This Is Why You Should Have A PSVita

All I know is I played my Vita 3 hours tonight and probably 5 on Sunday. I freaking love the thing.

The battery life on this thing is pure witchcraft BTW.

How dare you sir! How dare you!?!? Playing games on Vita, when everybody knows that Vita has NO GAMES. And the games that are available are inferior versions of home console ones, that got worse reviews and thus have lower metacritic scores than numerous Mario's, Pokemon's, Zelda's etc on 3DS.

Just in case... /sarcasam

OP is my problem with the Vita. That, and the ludicrously overpriced memory cards.

Virtually every one of those games that interests me is a watered down version of the same game I can play on PS3. Thus, no reason to own a Vita.

Holy crap. Those are some good looking games. The Vita is looking nicer now. I just need to know Sony will keep up the games.

well I guess if does get a price cut and get those games will you be changing your tune.

mmmhmmm

I've bought every Playstation console when a Gran Turismo released, and I don't see that formula changing any time soon.

Until then, I'll enjoy PSP, which I just bought a year ago, and have over 20 games to enjoy

To tell you the truth, I hacked my PSP to see what's the big deal about CFW. and man it was great. Played GBA games SNES and Gensis games.

I modded my PS2 in the past, and ended up playing very little of a lot of games. I'm also more of a nerd now, so I want to collect and keep all the good games.

What does CFW stand for? I'm probably going to soft mod my PSP too, for the same reason as you. Mostly games I own though, I have Japanese versions of unloclaized Fire Emblem games, and I want to play them, but Fire Emblem for me is a game which should play played on a handheld. I also want to try Mother 3 before I import a Japanese copy. I hear GBA games play well on the PSP because the screen resolutions are directly scalable, so GBA games when strectched, don't blur.

CFW stands for Costum Firmware. you'll need some special battery and memory card.

Yes The Vita does review lower.. and yes I would agree that that is because it has something of a identity crisis.. from two angles..

1. Portable Gamers: Portable Gamers are used to a certain type of game... ( I am not certain how many of these people actually own a Vita though to be honest it seems to be mainly number two..) not full blown console games... so they are uncomfortable when they get what seems to be a full blown console game on a portable system..

2. Sony Gamers.. (And these seem to be the majority from what I read..) Basically.. if they get a portable version of anything.. they are ticked.. and quick to point out the systems power.. and to tell you why they should have basically got a console game instead of a portable version.. (Which to portable gamers defeats the whole purpose of the system as a portable.. )

Between the two crowds.. you get low scores.. because if a game is honestly made for a handheld.. Sony people don't like it.. and if it is a Triple A title Portable people don't like it.. which I find kind of stupid.. especially on the Portable Gamers side.. cause frankly.. they are usually the ones that say Graphics don't matter game play does.. (The Sony Crowd does not surprise me at all... ) And in the end.. some of those scores also come from the fact that they are ports/remakes of various games.. that does not always help either..

Personally I love Persona 4.. and off that list.. that and maybe Dragons Crown would be the only two reasons for me to buy one... but then.. I already have Persona 4 on my PS2.. and just like Persona 3.. and the FES edition.. I see no reason to buy it again.. despite all the improvements.. (Especially.. since there is only two games I want right now.. and I have to buy a whole new system to get them.. it's just not really worth it right now)

As far as to who is to blame for those low sales.. well Sony has not exactly went out of their way to do much of anything with it.. and.... I guess both versions of gamers as well.. after all.. if neither side is willing to give a game a good rating based off how it plays.. instead of it being triple A.. or Handheld game.. this represents a whole new problem.. and continues with the identity crisis.. so actually it's both parties fault to a point..

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

Actually, someone showed me a way to "soft mod" the PSP. This way it's stock, but I can load the modded firmware, and ta da!

I only really want it for Fire Emblem 7 and Mother 3, if I have to buy something, I'd rather buy the EZ-Flash Drive for GBA
