Maybe to each their own, but this is why 3DS is murdering PSV in sales. Most prefer 3DS.
LOL, it's funny that you meantion Persona, FFVII, and GTA Vice City as reasons to own a PSV over a 3DS, but 3DS has more games, arguably better games, in those same respective franchises. As for GTA, you can buy a 3DS and a PSP for the price of a Vita, so that takes away a lot of the reasons for owning a Vita.

PSV is a good console, but not a great system.
Being able to play PS1 games is nice, especially since PS1 was discontinued 10 years ago, and many people haven't had a chance to play some of those great gems. Plus being able to play slightly downgraded PS3 games on the go is also very nice.
However PSV offer very little that's new on it's own. It heavily relies on PS1/PS3 ports to keep it alive, and if you already own a PS1/PS3, and even beat most of these ports. There really is little reason to buy a $250 console to play them all over again.
3DS on the other hand does offer a lot on its own, and with Virtual console + DS backward compatibility, people have access to a lot more great retro games. Plus DS and 3DS saw a lot of SNES and now PS1 era JRPG's being remade. Add in the fact that a 3DS is $80 cheaper, and it's a pretty solid deal.

PS3 sure as hell can't play all those games. Besides you missed my point, just because the Vita does not have many exclusives doesn't mean it has no games to play on it. I realize that theres alot of ports and games that are available on other consoles but I think its cool that I can have so many types of games on one portable console (which like I stated before I prefer). For people like me who have never played some of the ports its getting and never would on a home console they now have the opportunity to play it on a portable system.
Besides you can bet your ass that if Nintendo still tried to sell a 3DS for $250 like they did when it launched it we'd live in a completely different world today. Of course thats not to say that Sony would have had to do somethings different as well like add in onboard memory ala PSPGo.
The fact of the matter is while the 3DS runs circles round the Vita as far as exclusives the Vita still has plenty to offer new or not. Anybody who likes portable gaming shouldn't just dismiss the Vita and do themselves a favor, just own both.

Like I said, PSV is a great console, but not a great system. Being able to play ports of PS1, PSP, PS3, and a couple PS2 games is really nice, especially for those who haven't played them before. However for people who have, it's pretty much a waste.
PSV is $250, it's a bit much to own both a Vita and a 3DS, espcially if you're not interested in ports. My arguement is Vita should be dismissed as a new console since it offers new, and should be looked as a PS3 Portable, for people who want to do what PS3 does, but outside the house.

Yea.....well only time can tell.
BTW, What Suikoden are you talking about? The only handheld Suikoden is the one for DS.
Also I highly doubt those Tales games or FF-Type Zero will get localized. FF Type Zero and VC3 are PSP games, to make them full out PSV retail games would involve a lot of re-working. The best you can hope for is an english digital release, but even then that's a stretch.
Also, Nintendo is working to bring over a lot of 3DS exclusives. Dragon Quest VII would be a big one, it would mean that all the Dragon Quest games except 8 are available for Nintendo handhelds.

You dont do research on PSP titles do you l0l

Possibly a similar rumor that people made about FFType-0 coming from PSP to Vita.
Anyways why are you always downplaying the Vita - even in a thread that should be positive in terms of promoting the system? I can understand a thread talking about the faults of the Vita but why this thread and why the mention of the 3DS in a Vita thread that has nothing to do with sales or competition >_>?

That would be cool to see an upscaled port of Suikoden I and II for Vita. I don't see this happening because this was a 2006 PSP game, but I hope it gets a retail release, Star Ocean 1 & 2 for PSP were great.
Anyway, I down play for a lot of reasons, mostly because I'm disappointed at the PSV now that I play PSP:
- Not of fan of digital releases, Altelier should release as a physical copy, and I'd much rather play the original version of the PS1/PS2 game if no retail PSP/PSV game exists
- I want to see the Vita release some AAA new games. Jeane D'Ark, Crisis Core, and Gran Turismo were such good games. I want to see Vita be just as good as PSP
- I want to see more HD ports, like PSP saw
- If Vita falls, Nintendo reigns supreme, and 90% of the Vita exclusives would just go to Nintendo, defeating the need to own 2 handhelds.
So in the end, I rip on Vita because it could be so much more. I'd much rather condone the system for not living up to my expectations, then praise it for having PSN, and living off that.
I play games, for the games. So Vita doesn't appeal to me because I can just play all those games on consoles. I have other handheld games in my backlog, it's not like I beat all my handheld games, and need to resort to console ports to enjoy handheld gaming. I will pick one up, maybe in 2020, even if it's just for Uncharted and Gravirty Rush atm, but the Vita could have been much much more.

Mind you, when Vita see's Gran Turismo, my opinion WILL change. That and a couple unique AAA JRPG's.
