(I just need an XL in a proper colour).

You may be in lucky: A Canadian retailer just leaked that the black 3DS XL is coming over !

Finally......

but I want solid white... LOL, nah, Black is good.

Now the question is wait for a redesign with a better battery, or get the 3DS XL in Black and get Pokemon Y on Day 1, and play Fire Emblem......

My PSP collection will last me a good solid year, hm....

some people try too actively to make it seem like a bad system =P
if it's not for you then it's not for you but thats a damn nice lineup of games and some people do play away from home.

My current wishlist: Ys, Muramasa, FFX, Ragnarok odyssey Ace and Dragon's Crown. this is only for games that have western releases, my dream wishlist has many games that i'd like to see get localized.

and dont get me started on how much better the screen is FFS.

Man, if only I could go into the "This is why you should have a 3DS" thread and start spewing my negative opinions.

I'd probably be crucified.

No offense, but I see this as a list of reasons NOT to buy a PSV. It's all enhanced remakes of older PS2/PS3 games, PS3-PSV or 3DS-PSV multiplaftorm games, and lower quality spinoffs of main franchises.

The only worthy games on that list are Uncharted and Gravity Rush (and maybe Killzone if it's there)

Not to be a ass, but Nintendo offers more 1st party exclusive games on the 3DS then this list has in its entirty. How many Nintendo games are there on the 3DS now? 20? 30?

I bought a PSP last year, and I'm enjoying that for now. I might get a Vita at the end of life, I like to own every good game, and if Vita only has 2 or 3 good games, it's still 2 or 3 games I want.

Right now, if I were to buy a Vita, I would buy Uncharted, Disgaea 3 & 4, Gravity Rush, and Altleir Tortori and the sequel. 4 PS3 games, and 2 unique PSV games. For 3DS I already have over a dozen unique 3DS games planned to purchase (I just need an XL in a proper colour).

To each his own i guess. Before I owned a Vita I've never play Uncharted, Persona 4, Metal Gear, Muramasa, Need For Speed, Killzone or many other ports/multiplat games. Honestly if it wasn't for the Vita I would have never played them as I much prefer handhelds to console. I have a PSP, PS3, Wii, DS, and 3DS right now and combined I play them only half as much as my Vita. Why? Because in my pinion the Vita hardware wise is the best console I've ever own and even software wise it holds it's own.

What other platform allows you to go from playing Uncharted to Persona 4 to Muramasa to GTA Vice City Stories to Jak and Daxter to Gravity Rush to Final Fantasy VII to Metal Gear to Guacamelee to Super Stardust Delta to then hoping on Youtube, Facebook, Netflix, or just surfing the web? PS3

While the 3DS has more exlusive games what happens if I don't really care for Mario and Luigi, Zelda, DK, or Pokemon?

Animal Crossing
Fire Emblem (best rated original 8th gen game to date)
SMT IV
Castlevania
Final Fantasy I-VI
Dragon Quest IV-VII
Resident Evil Revelations
Monster Hunter
Kid Icarus
Starfox
Metal Gear
Prof Layton
Pretty much anything good pre 1996 over virtual console
Cave Story/Pushmo/Crashmo (better rated then Stardust and Guacamelee)

There all great games but if you don't like them it limits your selection on 3DS by quite a bit.

I was going to make this a troll thread by having just P4G in the OP but when I thought about it while the Vita is lacking in exclusives it still has a shit ton of great games available to it especially when you count the PSP and PS1 games available for it. Good games are good games multiplat/port,  or not.

Also this isn't necassarily a reply to just you but to other people as well.

Maybe to each their own, but this is why 3DS is murdering PSV in sales. Most prefer 3DS.

LOL, it's funny that you meantion Persona, FFVII, and GTA Vice City as reasons to own a PSV over a 3DS, but 3DS has more games, arguably better games, in those same respective franchises. As for GTA, you can buy a 3DS and a PSP for the price of a Vita, so that takes away a lot of the reasons for owning a Vita.

PSV is a good console, but not a great system.

Being able to play PS1 games is nice, especially since PS1 was discontinued 10 years ago, and many people haven't had a chance to play some of those great gems. Plus being able to play slightly downgraded PS3 games on the go is also very nice.

However PSV offer very little that's new on it's own. It heavily relies on PS1/PS3 ports to keep it alive, and if you already own a PS1/PS3, and even beat most of these ports. There really is little reason to buy a $250 console to play them all over again.

3DS on the other hand does offer a lot on its own, and with Virtual console + DS backward compatibility, people have access to a lot more great retro games. Plus DS and 3DS saw a lot of SNES and now PS1 era JRPG's being remade. Add in the fact that a 3DS is $80 cheaper, and it's a pretty solid deal.

PS3 sure as hell can't play all those games. Besides you missed my point, just because the Vita does not have many exclusives doesn't mean it has no games to play on it. I realize that theres alot of ports and games that are available on other consoles but I think its cool that I can have so many types of games on one portable console (which like I stated before I prefer). For people like me who have never played some of the ports its getting and never would on a home console they now have the opportunity to play it on a portable system.

Besides you can bet your ass that if Nintendo still tried to sell a 3DS for $250 like they did when it launched it we'd live in a completely different world today. Of course thats not to say that Sony would have had to do somethings different as well like add in onboard memory ala PSPGo.

The fact of the matter is while the 3DS runs circles round the Vita as far as exclusives the Vita still has plenty to offer new or not. Anybody who likes portable gaming shouldn't just dismiss  the Vita and do themselves a favor, just own both.

Seriously: By that logic, you could add the redicolusly huge DS library to the 3DS´
...I already have a PSP, so the idea of going from FF VII to an almost unplayable port of 3 PS2 games (which are indefinately better on the PS3) is not very compelling...

...to be honest: I could make a similar thread about the WiiU if I would just list EVERYTHING on the System, regardless of multplat or exclusivity...

The Jak games on vita, while having some framerate issues, are still %100 playable. People completely overreacted, I platinumed the 1st game with ease and besides maybe the first 10 minutes I couldn't even tell there were framerate issues. And the DS compatibility was a massive selling point to me because in my opinion there isn't a lot of compelling 3DS sofware untill Pokemon X/Y. So after X/Y were anounced I waited untill the XL went on sale for $160 then bought it and now play mostly DS games on it.

You definetely could make a thread about the WiiU because it has some great games

PSV is $250, it's a bit much to own both a Vita and a 3DS, espcially if you're not interested in ports. My arguement is Vita should be dismissed as a new console since it offers new, and should be looked as a PS3 Portable, for people who want to do what PS3 does, but outside the house.

Yea.....well only time can tell.

BTW, What Suikoden are you talking about? The only handheld Suikoden is the one for DS.

Also I highly doubt those Tales games or FF-Type Zero will get localized. FF Type Zero and VC3 are PSP games, to make them full out PSV retail games would involve a lot of re-working. The best you can hope for is an english digital release, but even then that's a stretch.

Also, Nintendo is working to bring over a lot of 3DS exclusives. Dragon Quest VII would be a big one, it would mean that all the Dragon Quest games except 8 are available for Nintendo handhelds.

You dont do research on PSP titles do you l0l

Possibly a similar rumor that people made about FFType-0 coming from PSP to Vita.

Anyways why are you always downplaying the Vita - even in a thread that should be positive in terms of promoting the system? I can understand a thread talking about the faults of the Vita but why this thread and why the mention of the 3DS in a Vita thread that has nothing to do with sales or competition >_>?

That would be cool to see an upscaled port of Suikoden I and II for Vita. I don't see this happening because this was a 2006 PSP game, but I hope it gets a retail release, Star Ocean 1 & 2 for PSP were great.

Anyway, I down play for a lot of reasons, mostly because I'm disappointed at the PSV now that I play PSP:

- Not of fan of digital releases, Altelier should release as a physical copy, and I'd much rather play the original version of the PS1/PS2 game if no retail PSP/PSV game exists
- I want to see the Vita release some AAA new games. Jeane D'Ark, Crisis Core, and Gran Turismo were such good games. I want to see Vita be just as good as PSP
- I want to see more HD ports, like PSP saw
- If Vita falls, Nintendo reigns supreme, and 90% of the Vita exclusives would just go to Nintendo, defeating the need to own 2 handhelds.

So in the end, I rip on Vita because it could be so much more. I'd much rather condone the system for not living up to my expectations, then praise it for having PSN, and living off that.

I play games, for the games. So Vita doesn't appeal to me because I can just play all those games on consoles. I have other handheld games in my backlog, it's not like I beat all my handheld games, and need to resort to console ports to enjoy handheld gaming. I will pick one up, maybe in 2020, even if it's just for Uncharted and Gravirty Rush atm, but the Vita could have been much much more.

----

Mind you, when Vita see's Gran Turismo, my opinion WILL change. That and a couple unique AAA JRPG's.

^The 3DS is great too. I'll get one next year. It seem like both Sony and Nintendo have similar problems.

I got a Vita and I love it but I can't really recommend it when my most played game is Valkyria Chronicles II.

You didnt see the second and third links did you? There is a 2012 release of a Suikoden game for the PSP. The Suikoden 1 and 2 part was just in reference to you saying that the DS is the only portable to have a portable Suikoden ;p.

You have every right to rip the Vita but my question was why in this thread which is just to talk about the games that are offered to people. If you want to downplay the system itself - there's been plenty of threads in the past few months talking about the issues of the Vita.

@bolded/italic/underlined - So you do want the Vita to fail :/ that is really horrible - oh well. Anyways I doubt even 50% would go to the Vita, they just wont be made or will be released on other platforms other than the portables.

Anyways no point in explaining anything more to a person who seems to be clearly bias so I'll be taking my leave off from this thread :/

you'd might as well rip on the Wii-U.

I'm not getting that feel, man...
