Forums - General - What was the best year or period in your life? and why?

i recently had to get rid of my yearbooks. I realized i am very nostalgic over 7th n 8th grade. It's difficult to believe they were the best times of my life. Sadly it started off falling in love, breaking up and losing my only sibling to suicide. An unusual thing happened immediately after, I found what is meant by community. I started clicking with peers and formed a new clique. But the most magical thing of all is the feeling i felt at school. It was an outdoor school. I remember so much and it fills me with wonder still.

I've really liked the last year, my first year of college.
College is so great.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

definitely ages 8-12 for me. although i often wonder if its the best or worst time in my life. anytime something reminds me of that time period (such as recently playing an old WWE game, big part of my childhood) it makes me sad that i no longer live in that time and i do stuff to take me back there and relive those memories.

The best period in my life was before I met my wife.  My wife has made my life a misery she is dominating and takes my money and absuses me. I do not have the courage or financial means to leave her. I have a big regret in my life, which is that because i was brought up in quite a strict english christian upbringing, that my homosexual feelings never got a chance. As I have got older and societies values have changed, its completely acceptable even to the point of marriage. My life would be quite different if I was born now.

This is something I think about all the time. I always think that so many times in the past were so amazing, and I wish I could go back to that magic. However, as life goes on I realize new memories continue to be added to that nostalgia. I have found that even though I really appreciated things long ago, I would not have the same felling about them today. I have grown, and my interests have expanded, and the things that I once felt deeply about I now realize are not as important in the overall scheme of things.

I feel that the best period of my life is yet to come.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

OT: I think its 2006-7 for me

This year definitely. I graduated high school and got accepted into my preferred university. I stopped being totally terrible at school and actually started to care about my grades. This was the year I stopped being totally anti-social and started to get out more, talk, get together with new people, and strengthening already existing friendships.

At the same time there were plenty of hardships, at times the past year has felt like total hell, There were a few times when I just wanted to give up but as cheesy as it sounds because of all the shit I had to go through it turned out better in the end.

it's a tie between 2003 (The peak of my social life)
And 2012 (spending so much time with the girl i like)

lol

i thank each and everyone of you all for participating in my 1st thread :-*.. its much appreciated.

the purpose of this thread was to satisfy the main desire in every human nature which is curiosity. and to get to know you better since i love this site and its members for their valued opinions.

i thought of this topic for my thread because i was staying home feeling very sick and while i was watching tv, i came across a movie called Passengers starring Anne hathaway and the ending was so emotional to me that it moved me to tears cos it talked about losing ur loved ones and the accompanying melody at the end was so powerful. i searched the soundtrack to find it was composed by Edward shearmur and the track was called 'End Titles' since it played in the end credits. give it a listen and give me ur thoughts about it my lovely community

My sophmore to my senior year in highschool 2004-2005. By that time, almost all of my bullying has ended (I was bullied from Kindergarden to highschool). I was at the peak of my (somewhat social) life. Close to graduating, and just enjoying my highschool life.

The only bad thing I can say about this time is that I never dated (never went to prom which I didn't care at all, and I'm not a dancer), and I was the lone wolf in my group of friends.

This is why I have a such a fondness for highschool fiction in movies, and tv shows (mainly anime).
