They make the best first party controllers now that Sega isn't around.

Best. I'm using the Pro Controller from my ZombiU Pack on PC all the time. Dark Souls is a blast with it. Also best digipad for 2D games
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

NES= good
SNES= Even better
N64= what the hell is this thing?
Gamecube= good
Wii= ok
Haven't played a Wii U yet to comment
Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
Best controller of all time = NGC Wavebird. That thing is incredible to hold.
I personally love the N64 controller, its comfortable to use and i associate it with so many great memories.
The Wii controller is incredible, whether you like the wii or not, you cannot deny that it turned the gaming community upside down with its success through simplicity
ooooooh, this is a strangely touchy subject.
NES= grade B due to being the 1st compact conroller, but not the most comfy controller
snes= grade A. added to an already good controller and was comfy
64= grade A, was pretty comfy, and had amazing versatility, no analog stick to date has had the kind of sensitivity of the 64 analog stick, 6 face buttons were a real treat and the dpad was great. Only downside was the analog stick would wear over time.
gamecube= grade C+, the imaginative button layout was an interesting idea, but didn't really pay off. The giant a button in the middle was supposed to be so that nongamers wouldn't be intimidated, but it made traditional games like mortal kombat feel a little awkward. It's saving grace was it's comfort and multisensitive trigger buttons.
wii=grade B, that's a tough one to grade. Motion controls have proven to be hit or miss, but when they're good they're great. My main quarm with the wii was similar to the gamecube. Simply adding buttons around the A button (like the ps move) would have remedied alot of control schemes and possibly helped 3rd party developers.
wii-u gamepad= gradeA, got to try it a few times and it's extrememly comfortable. Also, it has tablet functionalities making it a very versatile controller.
| Mummelmann said: Haha, both! ![]() No seriously, they have the whole spectrum. The Gamepad is by far their worst controller so far, but I actually loved the N64 controller the most. I know, there's something wrong with me! |
why is the gamepad their worst? It is comfortable and is not heavy at all.
If nintendo made the best controllers they woudn't be coming with a completely new direction controller wise each gen.
