Capcom announced a new Strider game during a Comic-Con panel this week. There was initially some confusion about the game coming to Wii U, as someone who was live-tweeting from the event said that it would indeed head to Nintendo’s console.

As it turns out, the official announcement confirmed that a Wii U version isn’t in the works. But that doesn’t mean Strider has been completely ruled out for the system. The same person who live-tweeted from Capcom’s presentation caught up with developer Double Helix following the panel and was told that the game could be ported over “if there’s a demand for it.”

For now, if you’re interested in the new Strider, you’ll need to settle for another platform – PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, or PC.

And the other platforms merely have to exist or be announced?

Double Helix has such high standards for Nintendo.

Dam that sucks...looks like I'm gonna have to pass on this game.

Now that Svensson has been permabanned from Capcom-Unity, it looks Capcom is getting their larks and jollies by goading NeoGAFfers towards bans for port-begging.

I would love for someone to explain to me how they gauge "if there is demand".

I don't even know why they bother to say this, bring a late port to the WiiU and see what happens.
