Hopefully Major Nelson taped it and will upload a video from the event. I would be surprised if Microsoft didn't officially tape it.

Something else to highlight:
The match highlights were used as a sort of demo of the Xbox One's new video recording feature, which automatically records and stores locally the last five minutes of every game you play. Whenever something cool happens, you simply say "Xbox record" and it saves out the last 30 seconds of gameplay for upload and sharing.
This makes how the Games DVR function works a little more clear. So, basically the system automatically records the last five minutes of gameplay, and while you're playing if there is something you've done that you want to save, you just tell it to record it, and it'll grab the last 30 seconds.
I'm assuming, if you don't tell it to save anything, you lose anything that happened in the last five minutes as it begins a new five minutes. But also, you could probably go in 30 second increments saying "Xbox Record" and it'd save each clip.

Edit: Currently Sony does not do this and it did not do this with move because I have it on my PS3. The PSeye does not know you and it does not using the camera to recognize who a player is. So far the PS4 eye does not do this either. Yes, the PSeye can folow the controller but it does not follow the player and since it is not in every PS4 its features are limited. |
I agree.
wowowo hold it right there.... while I love the profile loading Kinect feature and think it is great step forward towards removing unnecessary steps into the gaming process and living you more time to whatever you want to do with your entertainment time... even if it is one second at a time....
where did you read that it will load profiles over XBL????? I can believe if you have the profile on the box it will work.... but I have a hard time believing it will load it through XBL....
that would some of the great amazing power of the cloud right there.... now I would even be blown away if it works just with the profiles of the people in your friend list.... that would be some bad ass trick right there.... but I'd still settle for a local load of existing profiles on the box....

Another interesting feature that seems to be standard is the facial mapping. Before, games like Rainbow 6 head this tech using kinect 1. It seems like MS is making this something standard with the hardware and now any game can do this. Little features like this can be very interesting when the console makes it standard for all games. One of the reason why so many games use voice with the kienct because MS made the API standard with the hardware so its easy to implement. If this will be the case for the facial mapping then adventure games like GTA, PRGs and other games that could easily implement this feature would add that immersion and seperate Kinect 2.0 from other devices.
Personally Iwould love to be able to build a charcter in a game like Soul Calibur and put my face on it.

That is impressive but I feel some people will find a way to make that into a negative. It seems Kinect 2.0 will be leagues better than the old one. |
Well if it wasn't then something would be very wrong lol...

Yes, but the PS4 Camera isn't included in-box. The PS4, with a PS4 Camera, will detect the controller. It is supposed to be usable for signing on a player, though this particular feature hasn't actually been demonstrated. However, if you and I are sitting right next to each other on a couch, and you're Player 1 and I'm Player 2. On the PS4 -- as it stands right now with the features shown -- if you and I exchange controllers, you will be me and I will be you. The only difference is that, if we're playing split screen, the screen would switch sides. The PS4 as it has been demonstrated knows who the player is by the color of the light bar. Not by who is holding it. Now, if Sony does actually feature an auto sign-in process, then they could be on par. But again, as of right now with the features demonstrated, they're not the same. And without the PS4 Camera, they're nothing similar. |
Buy it with the 100$ you save.
yeah well good for you me I'll ask the wife and all her GF to come over one night so I can do a full Ivy like roster :D to each their own right :P

I guess that means you have to play Xbox One in a lighted room for the Kinect to see you. I wonder how close or far away you have to sit from the screen. Not really wowed by that feature, but I'm feeling neutral about it.
