Hard to compile such a list, many good games this gen. From the ones I have played:

Honourable mentions: Skyrim, would be in top if it wasn't a bug fest and had better performance. GTA IV: almost, almost. Gran Turismo 5: spent a lot of time playing it and loved it, but I need story for a game to be a truly memorable experience. Rayman Origins: shitload of fun, great art, awesome coop fun, just shy of top ten.

Plus games still to play that I believe have a chance to end up in the top ten: Red Dead Redemption, Batman Arkham City, Beyond Two Souls, Puppetter, Tomb Raider.

I havent played The Last of Us. The reviews for that are off the scale so I expect it may make my generation chart when I get around to it.

There's still a lot of good looking games yet to come for this generation, but so far (in no particular order), I'd go with:

1. The Last of Us - Never a doubt about TLoU being number 1. Amazing story, again like Skyrim pulls you into the universe. I cried a couple times. Words can't really describe the entire experience of this game. Naughty Dog has proven that they are without a doubt the best video game developers in the industry.

2. Journey - Not really a game, more of an experience. It tugs at your heart strings. Journey is an experience that is what you make of it. Truely unique and possibly the best $15 I've ever played.

3. Skyrim - Put over 150 hours in the Ps3 version (mine worked great). Such a vivid world that completely took me into the universe. Story was great, gameplay was great, leveling up with fun to do, SO MUCH SHIT TO DO IN THIS GAME. Amazing experience. I never got to play Oblivion, and I probably never will due to the fact that Skyrim is most likely superior in every way that I wouldn't enjoy Oblivion.

4. Mass Effect 1 - Sure ME2 and ME3 (minus the ending) were great, but ME1 started it all out. Still love to this die the sci-fi feeling to the first in the series.

5. Uncharted 2 - storytelling and movie atmosphere + great gameplay, visuals, and a good multiplayer? yes.

6. Call of Duty 4 - Best COD. Multiplayer was innovative and addictive, but the campaign was amazing as well. Story telling was actually understandable and interesting.

7. Assassin's Creed 2 - My favorite Assassin's Creed. Wonderful story, improved over the original by leaps and bounds. Great gameplay. My first platinum trophy.

8. Bioshock 1/Infinite - honestly can't choose between the unique and innovative Bioshock and the story perfected Infinite. So it's a tie ^__^

9. Grand Theft Auto 4 - story was great but multiplayer was the best feature

10. Super Smash Bros Brawl - Over 300 hours at least put into this game. Possibly the greatest local multiplayer game of all time. So much fun had with my friends and brawl it's almost ridiculous.
